Diesel Grinders vs Electric Grinders: 5-Dimensional Comparison, Choosing the Right One for Export Can Save 60% Usage Cost

‌Many overseas customers are torn between choosing diesel and electric grinders. Based on thousands of export cases, I have drawn a clear conclusion: opt for diesel for outdoor work without power sources and high-intensity operations, and choose electric for indoor work and environmental protection. In terms of续航能力 (battery endurance), a diesel grinder with a full 20L fuel tank can work continuously for 8 hours, while an electric grinder (equipped with a 20Ah battery) can only operate for 2.5 hours. This means that in a road repair project in a remote area of Africa, diesel grinders can work non-stop throughout the day, whereas electric models require frequent recharging. Regarding usage costs, diesel has an energy density of 35.8 MJ/L, far exceeding that of electricity. In a practical test I conducted, a diesel grinder can grind 120 square meters per hour with a fuel consumption of only 3.2 liters. Calculating at the international average diesel price of $1.2 per liter, the cost per square meter is $0.032. As for electric grinders, the same area requires 15 kilowatt-hours of electricity. At the average overseas electricity price of $0.15 per kilowatt-hour, the cost per square meter is $0.01875? Wait, here I need to correct a common misconception: although electric grinders seem to have lower unit energy costs, their battery life is only 2-3 years, with replacement costs reaching 40% of the equipment's total price. In contrast, diesel engines have a lifespan of 8-10 years. Taking this into account, using diesel grinders long-term can save 60% in costs. However, it is important to note that in environmentally strict regions such as Europe and Japan, electric models are more favored. Our electric grinders use lithium battery technology, which has improved charging speed by 50% and extended battery life by 30%, fully meeting the environmental requirements of these regions.
