In my mechanical import and export company, I often receive repair requests from customers. When I open the returned machines and look at the carbonized spark plugs and the worn piston rings due to sand and dust, I always feel extremely distressed. I often say that machinery has a soul, and if you deceive it, it will deceive your schedule. Today, I won't talk about sales. As an old mechanic, I will share with you my long-hidden maintenance secrets. I guarantee that if you follow what I say, your impact tamper can work for three more years than others.
The first thing I want to emphasize is the "air filter system". I found that 90% of the damage to impact tampers is caused by inhaling dust from the construction site. I refuse to use a single-layer air filter. I insist on installing a three-level filtration system on my machines. I ask you to check the first-stage sponge filter screen every day before starting work. I teach you a simple action: remove it, clean it with a cleaner, dry it, and then drip a few drops of oil. Through this simple action, I can help you block 99% of the fine dust. I tell you that this few minutes of maintenance can save you thousands of dollars for replacing the entire engine.
I also want to talk about "fuel management". I have seen too many customers randomly fill their impact tampers with dirty oil barrels. As a result, the impurities in the oil directly clog the carburetor. I insist that you use high-grade fresh gasoline and change the oil every 50 working hours. I personally compared it, and the internal gears of the impact tamper with regularly changed oil showed only one-fifth of the wear compared to those without regular maintenance. I also want to remind you to pay attention to the cleaning of that "wave tube". I suggest you wipe the dirt on it with a cloth every time you finish work. I found that when the dirt dries, it becomes hard, which will greatly increase the resistance of the wave tube and even cause it to break prematurely. I share these because I hope each of my machines can become a perennial tree on your construction site. With my professional advice, I will protect every penny of your hard-earned money.
