The core wide-body dump truck fleet of Sany Heavy Industry in Xinjiang will be equipped with Allison gearboxes

Fifty units were delivered in January.

The No. 2 Open-pit Coal Mine of Dananhu is one of the planned mines in the west area of the Dananhu mining area in Xinjiang. It is located in the southwest of Hami City, Xinjiang, and serves as a supporting coal mine for the power supply project of the Hami South to Zhengzhou UHV Transmission Project. Since 2021, Sany Heavy Industry has been equipped with Allison WBD series gearboxes in bulk. The current SKT115S wide-body dump truck is precisely serving this key coal mine in the Gobi Desert. This has put forward higher requirements for the performance, durability and stability of the vehicle, especially the gearbox.

The Allison 4800WBD series transmission avoids the problems of the previous generation, such as the need to lock gears forward on slopes and the easy failure of gear shifting on slopes, reducing the driver's burden. With its excellent handling, it avoids accidents caused by improper operation by the driver. The integrated hydraulic retarder can assist in braking without thermal attenuation, enabling the brake to be reduced while effectively avoiding overspeed on downhill slopes.

The SKT115S wide-body dump truck of Sany Heavy Industry is equipped with a Weichai WP13G530 engine, with a rated power of 390 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 2,300 Newton-meters. The Allison 4800WBD series transmission can achieve full-throttle high-torque start and effortless hill start, solving the problems of difficult start, easy clutch burning and dangerous hill start of the previous generation transmission. In addition, this transmission can automatically and intelligently shift gears according to the slope of the road conditions without any shift failure, ensuring uninterrupted power supply and keeping the engine running efficiently. This not only enhances the vehicle's uphill power performance but also guarantees safety. This model has a maximum load capacity of 80 tons, a maximum speed of 39 kilometers per hour, a maximum climbing Angle of 27° in normal driving mode, and a climbing Angle of 72° in high-torque mode.
