Rotary drilling approach holes and grab operations - XCMG's coordinated operation on the plateau is really amazing!

Recently, the construction of the foundation anti-seepage wall for the Nongli Co Reservoir project in Xizang officially began, marking that the project has entered a critical period of construction. The construction site was bustling with activity. Five XCMG machines stood at an altitude of 4,500 meters on the plateau, working together to challenge the hard rocks on the plateau.

The Nongli Cuo Reservoir Project is located in Basu County, Xizang Autonomous Region, on Lengqu, a first-level tributary on the right bank of the Nujiang River. The elevation of the dam top is 4,470 meters, and it is a typical plateau project. After the reservoir is completed, it will comprehensively improve the drinking water quality for the residents of Basu County and the water conservancy problems of many counties.

The on-site construction conditions are harsh, the climate is cold and it snows all year round. The geological conditions are complex, with dense gravel and sand eggs accompanied by large floating rocks over one meter in diameter, and the strata become harder as they go down. The width of the trench in this water conservancy project is 800mm and the depth is 50-60m. The hard rock below is a problem that the XCMG rotary drilling rig and the hydraulic grab of the continuous wall need to solve.

Five XCMG machines are working intensively on the site. The XCMG XR200E, XR400D and XR450E rotary drilling RIGS are responsible for the lead hole operation on the site, while the XCMG XG500E and XG700E continuous wall grabs are in charge of the trenching of the anti-seepage wall. The rotary drilling RIGS and the continuous wall hydraulic grabs are each playing to their strengths in the project, and the on-site operation is well-organized.

With the high efficiency and full attendance of XCMG Jin, combined with the rotary drilling approach hole and grab grab method, the current construction efficiency of this project is only one day for the upper 20 meters and an average of 10 meters per day for the lower 30 to 40 meters. The construction party highly praised the performance and service of XCMG products and held discussions with XCMG staff on further in-depth cooperation.
