The Taicang to Changzhou section of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway, completed in 2004, passes through one of the most dynamic county-level economic regions in China and is of great significance for promoting the high-quality development of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. However, the current traffic capacity has become difficult to match the increasing volume of traffic.
In February 2023, the expansion project of the Taicang to Changzhou section of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway officially started. The project is approximately 135 kilometers long and will be expanded in accordance with the technical standards of a two-way eight-lane expressway (with some sections being two-way ten-lane expressways).
In this highly anticipated key renovation project of national and provincial roads, three Anmai ABG 8820 asphalt pavers and one ABG 6820 have won unanimous praise from the owner and the construction party for their high-efficiency and high-quality on-site operation performance. With the successive commencement of other sections, more ABG pavers will be put into use.
The ABG 8820 is a large-scale paving equipment specially designed for heavy-load scenarios such as expressways, featuring a maximum paving width of 13 meters and a maximum paving capacity of 1100 tons per hour. The machine is equipped with a 55 kVA high-power generator, and it only takes about 30 minutes to complete the electric heating of the ironing plate. The hydraulic telescopic screed equipped with double hammers can achieve excellent pre-compaction results, effectively reduce the subsequent rolling operation time, and improve the overall paving quality.
According to on-site measurements, the fuel consumption of the ABG 8820 is only about 11 liters per hour, which is 30% or even more lower than that of its competitors in the same class. This significant economic advantage is mainly attributed to the engine power output adaptive technology of the ABG paver.
Under conditions where the thickness of the paved layer is large and the construction intensity is high, ABG 8820, with its advanced temperature control system for the screed, electronic leveling system and automatic speed control system, unique anti-climbing and anti-falling technology for the screed and double hammer technology, as well as effective anti-segregation control, ensures that the paved layer is uniform, dense and free of segregation.
The ABG 6820 is positioned as a multi-functional paving device. Its flexible structural design and stable paving performance enable it to handle medium-scale construction scenarios with ease. This machine has excellent adaptability and scalability. Its intelligent control system can quickly adjust the paving parameters according to on-site needs, achieving efficient response. The all-round view and intuitive operation interface ensure that the operator has precise control over the paving process.
At the construction site of the expansion project of the Taicang to Changzhou section of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway, the Anmai ABG paver has been operating stably in response to complex challenges such as high temperatures, multiple lanes, and large-scale paving.
