Maintenance
A clever way to change the hydraulic oil of an excavator, so practical!
The traditional way to change the hydraulic oil of an excavator is nothing more than draining the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic oil tank, replacing the hydraulic oil filter element, and then adding new hydraulic oil. This method can only replace 48% of the hydraulic oil in the system. The 52% of the dirty oil remaining in the system, when mixed with the new hydraulic oil, significantly reduces the service life of the hydraulic pump and other components.
For example. The total amount of hydraulic oil in the system is 500L, but there is only 220L of hydraulic oil in the hydraulic oil tank. If only the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic oil tank is replaced, less than half of the total amount of hydraulic oil in the system will be replaced. The method for replacing 95% of the hydraulic oil in the system is introduced as follows:
Method/Steps
Park the machine on a flat ground, remove the bucket, turn off the engine, take off the oil pipe joint of the bucket cylinder at the end close to the boom, and install the plug. Start the engine and slowly lift the starting arm to allow the piston rod of the bucket cylinder to slowly extend to the end of the bucket cylinder stroke under its own weight. After all the hydraulic oil in the lower chamber of the bucket cylinder has been drained, restore the excavator's mobile arm and bucket rod to their original positions.
Remove the pin at the front end of the boom cylinder, retract the boom cylinder to the end of the stroke and turn off the engine. Remove the oil pipe joint at the end of the boom cylinder near the boom (before removing the oil pipe, fix the piston of the boom cylinder first to prevent the boom cylinder from suddenly extending under its own weight and causing an injury accident), and let the boom cylinder slowly extend under its own weight until the end of the stroke, and completely discharge the hydraulic oil in the lower chamber of the boom cylinder.
Remove the boom and slowly lower the boom cylinder to a horizontal position. Pull the boom cylinder plug rod back and forth for two strokes to the end. After all the hydraulic oil in the upper and lower chambers of the boom cylinder is discharged, install the boom cylinder.
Empty the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic oil tank, remove the oil drain plug under the hydraulic oil tank and the hydraulic pump, drain the remaining hydraulic oil inside, and then reinstall the oil drain plug.
Clean the hydraulic oil tank, replace the return oil, suction oil, pilot and drain oil filter elements, replace the breather on the hydraulic oil tank cover, add new hydraulic oil, and stop adding oil when the hydraulic oil level rises to 200mm from the top of the oil tank.
Unscrew the two air release screws on the top of the hydraulic pump. When the hydraulic oil flows out from the two air release ports without any bubbles, tighten the air release screws. Start the engine and observe the oil pipes of the boom and boom cylinder. When clean hydraulic oil flows out of the oil pipes of the boom and boom, reinstall the oil pipes to their original positions. (If no clean hydraulic oil flows out, you can open the separation handle and slowly operate this action until clean hydraulic oil flows out.)
Remove the plug on the bucket cylinder pipe, start the engine, observe the bucket cylinder pipe. When clean hydraulic oil flows out, turn off the engine and install the bucket cylinder oil pipe. (If no clean hydraulic oil flows out, you can open the separation handle and slowly operate the bucket control handle until clean hydraulic oil flows out of the oil pipes on both sides.)
Remove the cover plates on both sides of the walking motor, take off the joints of the two main oil pipes and the return oil pipe, start the engine, observe the two oil ports and the return oil pipe. When clean hydraulic oil flows out, reinstall the oil pipes to their original positions.
Remove the two main oil pipe joints of the rotating motor, start the engine. When clean hydraulic oil flows out of the two oil ports on one side of the rotating motor, turn off the engine and install plugs at the two oil ports of the rotating motor. Start the engine again, open the separation handle and slowly rotate the control handle until clean hydraulic oil flows out of both oil pipes.
Remove the plug on the rotary motor and install the oil pipe. Check the hydraulic oil dipstick. If the liquid level is below the standard line, add hydraulic oil so that the liquid level is 200mm above the top of the oil tank. Start the engine and open the separation handle. Slowly operate the boom, bucket and boom to the end of the stroke on both sides. Slowly control the walking, rotate the control handle, and make sure there is movement in each direction. Park the excavator at the oil level inspection position, check the hydraulic oil level, and add hydraulic oil to the standard line.
Just prepare two bucket oil pipe plugs (at the end close to the boom), two main oil port plugs of the rotating motor and one 5-ton hoisting device before replacement. Although this replacement method is a bit more complicated in procedure, it can completely replace the old oil inside the machine. If maintenance costs are not taken into account, it is still very beneficial for the maintenance of the machine.
