Shanghai, October 18, 2023 - Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of drive solutions for traditional and electrified vehicles and a globally renowned producer of fully automatic transmissions for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, is pleased to announce that its long-term partner, Lingong Heavy Machinery Co., LTD., will, by the end of 2023, More than 20 136-ton wide-body mining dump trucks (RT90) equipped with Allison 6620 ORS™ gearboxes were delivered to customers from all over the world for local ore transportation.

The Allison 6000 off-road series gearboxes enjoy an outstanding reputation in the global mining and coal mine transportation industry for their unparalleled performance, quality, durability and reliability.

Zhao Bingjian, the vice president of overseas business of Lingong Heavy Machinery, said: Allison gearboxes have never let us down. In terms of technological maturity and total cost of ownership, Allison gearbox products have a low failure rate, good durability, advanced performance, and stable and reliable quality. Lingong mining trucks equipped with Allison gearboxes can work longer and more efficiently in the harshest working conditions, and are highly favored and sought after by customers in mines.

The Lingong 136-ton wide-body mining dump truck is equipped with a Weichai WP17TG770E304 engine, with a rated power of 566 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 3,000 Newton-meters. This model has a maximum load capacity of 90 tons, a top speed exceeding 40 kilometers per hour, and a maximum climbing Angle of over 30 degrees. Lingong has for the first time installed Allison automatic transmission on a 136-ton platform with a larger tonnage. It can achieve a smooth start with full throttle and high torque, and automatically and intelligently shift gears according to the slope of the road, solving the problem of insufficient power when starting under heavy load and difficult gear shifting in complex uphill conditions of manual transmission. Meanwhile, during the loading and unloading process, the creep function can help drivers control the vehicle more precisely. The combination of a hydraulic torque converter and a wet clutch offers higher reliability. The integrated hydraulic retarder can provide additional braking force for the vehicle, reduce the overall braking load and wear of the vehicle, and extend the life of the tires.

In terms of reliability and durability, the Allison 6620 ORS™ transmission is equipped with a powerful diagnostic function, allowing drivers to monitor the transmission status in real time. The shift energy management function can effectively protect the transmission clutch, reduce shift shock and minimize vehicle jerks. This not only extends the maintenance cycle and reduces the maintenance cost of the transmission, but also enhances the driver's comfort.

Kartik Ramanan, Executive Director of Global Off-road and Service Engineering at Allison, said: "We are very pleased to maintain a long-term and stable partnership with Lingong Heavy Machinery. Whether it is in terms of product quality positioning or global layout strategy, Allison and Lingong share the same vision." We all expect to carry out broader and deeper cooperation with each other and jointly provide reliable and lasting solutions for the global market.

With the outstanding driving performance of Allison products in any rough terrain, Allison has greatly met the strict requirements of Chinese mining truck manufacturing enterprises for mining trucks in terms of handling, stability and many other aspects, thus gradually establishing a long-term and stable cooperative partnership.
