Construction machinery is one of the important engineering equipment of our military. It plays a significant role in engineering support and national defense construction tasks and is an important component of our military's combat effectiveness. Take military road rollers as an example. Since the 1980s, with the needs of war preparedness and construction, our military has successively purchased various types of compaction machinery such as 2Y6/8, 3Y12/15 and YZl0B. Their technical conditions are basically at the primary stage of compaction machinery, and most of the technologies adopted are mechanical transmission and rear-wheel drive. The road surface is mainly compacted by its own weight and by adjusting the linear load after the compaction wheel is filled with sand. At present, the extensive application of new materials and technologies has brought about tremendous changes in the technology of traditional compaction machinery. The selection principles of military construction machinery

The selection of construction machinery is one of the crucial steps in completing the preparatory work for engineering support. Whether the choice is correct or not not only affects whether the machinery can be used reasonably and fully exert its maximum efficiency, but also directly relates to whether the engineering support tasks can be completed on time and smoothly and the level of usage costs. Therefore, a comprehensive analysis and comparison must be made based on the specific conditions of the operation object and the work site, the performance of the machinery, and the application scope, in order to achieve the most reasonable and economical choice. The basic principles of the selection are as follows:

1.1 Machinery used for emergency tasks such as engineering support during wartime or disaster relief should be selected from those with good mobility, high operational efficiency and excellent technical conditions.

When performing the same task on a construction site, machinery of the same type should be selected as much as possible to facilitate management and the supply of oil and spare parts.

When there are two or more types of machinery capable of completing the same engineering task, the cost per unit output should be compared, and the one with higher operation efficiency and lower cost should be selected.

1.4 Select different types of machinery according to different earthwork transportation distances.

1.5 Select the machinery based on the economic transportation distance that different sizes of machinery of the same model can adapt to.

1.6 Select machinery based on different soil grades. For instance, bulldozers are most suitable for soil of grade I to II, while loaders are suitable for soil of grade I to IV. Rollers are used for compacting large areas of fill soil layers. Use vibratory rollers in areas with a high content of sand.

The development trend of military construction machinery

In the modernization and informatization construction of our military, we must attach great importance to the construction of the basic platform for mechanization. We should enhance mechanization through informatization and promote informatization construction through mechanization. The informatization construction of the mechanical equipment itself and the multi-dimensional space informatization construction of the battlefield environment should be carried out simultaneously, and neither can be lacking.

2.5 Product miniaturization

In the past decade, the miniaturization of construction machinery has been very obvious, which is conducive to the mobility of mechanical vehicles, the reduction of targets and the convenience of operation.

2.6 Driving Safety

Safety remains a very important factor in military construction machinery. Due to the limited field of vision of some mechanical vehicles, construction workers are often caught under the vehicles. The phenomenon of overturning caused by soft or uneven construction sites occurs from time to time. Now, there are safety protection measures such as infrared and ultrasonic detection technologies, as well as anti-slip and anti-rollover devices.
