What are the precautions for the corn tasseling machine
When using a corn tasseling machine, five key aspects need to be focused on: plot selection, working conditions, operation norms, safety protection, and maintenance. The specific precautions are as follows:
I. Site Selection and Agronomic Requirements
Plot adaptability
Give priority to choosing fields with flat terrain, uniform crop growth and no lodging, and the natural height difference of plants should not exceed 35cm.
Avoid working on slopes, hills or plots with loose soil that are prone to lodging to prevent mechanical damage or missed pumping.
Seed corn production must strictly determine the row spacing, plant spacing and the ratio of parent to parent rows in accordance with the adjustable range between rows of the emasculation machine to ensure the mechanical operation space.
The timing of the draw
The operation should be initiated when the bracts of the male scion of the mother plant are exposed (the bracts are covered with leaves, usually 1-3 leaves). At this time, the male scion has not yet released powder, and the effect of de-male is good.
Avoid working too early (when the spikelets have not yet emerged) or too late (when the pollen has already dissipated). The former is prone to damage the leaves, while the latter reduces the efficiency of emasculation.
Ii. Control of Working Conditions
Environmental requirements
Weather: Work on sunny days. Avoid rainy or windy days (wind speed > 4m/s) to prevent abnormal pollen dispersion or unstable mechanical operation.
Humidity: When the relative humidity of the air is higher than 65%, avoid working during the high-temperature period (10:00-16:00) to reduce the loss of pollen vitality.
Temperature: The operating temperature should be between 13 and 27 degrees Celsius. Both excessively high and low temperatures will affect the quality of tasseling and pollen activity.
Crop condition
Ensure that the moisture content of corn stalks is between 30% and 60%. If they are too dry, they are prone to breakage; if they are too wet, they may stick to machinery.
Remove the female hybrid plants before operation to avoid ineffective tasseling or the mixture of male pollen.
Iii. Operating Norms and Procedures
Mechanical adjustment
Adjust the distance and height between the rows of tasseling rings according to the corn planting parameters (row spacing, plant height) to ensure tasseling without damaging the leaves.
Before the trial operation, check the sensors, connecting parts and fasteners to ensure there is no looseness or damage.
Assignment sequence
Working along the pre-arranged route, the idle travel is short and the efficiency is high.
Two days after mechanical tasseling, manual re-examination is required to make up for the missed plants and ensure that the emasculation rate is ≥85%.
Exception handling
When mechanical blockage or malfunction occurs, stop the machine immediately. After eliminating the fault, install the protective device and then restart. It is strictly forbidden to eliminate faults while the machine is in operation.
Drivers take turns every two hours, with each operation not exceeding four hours to avoid fatigue work.
Iv. Safety Protection Measures
Personnel requirements
Operators must be professionally trained and qualified. It is strictly prohibited for those who are drunk, fatigued or unauthorized to operate.
When working, wear protective equipment (such as gloves and goggles) to avoid contact with mechanical rotating parts.
Mechanical safety
Before starting, sound the horn to confirm that no one is around. After stopping, cut off the power supply and hang a warning sign.
When performing maintenance and servicing, cut off the power supply. Park the machine on a flat and solid ground and support it with a solid object to prevent it from toppling over.
V. Maintenance and Care
Daily inspection
Before starting work, inspect key components such as bearings, chains, and V-belts, and replace worn parts or adjust the tension in a timely manner.
Clean the dust off the sensor to ensure accurate signal transmission.
Long-term storage
After the operation period, maintain the machinery as per the instructions, store it in a dry and well-ventilated place, and avoid rust or deformation.
