Adjustment and maintenance requirements for the main components of forklift pneumatic braking
Adjustment of the brake valve
The pre-tension of the balance spring should be 300-350N. When adjusting, the gasket between the spring and the bushing can be added or removed for adjustment.
The distance between the intake valve and the head of the valve stem is generally 16 to 16.4mm. If the distance is too small and the opening degree of the air valve is insufficient, the head of the valve stem can be repaired by copper welding. If the distance is too large and the intake valve does not close tightly, causing air leakage, the head of the valve stem can be filed and ground.
3) Adjustment of the exhaust valve. The distance between the exhaust valve housing and the head of the valve stem should be (4.5±0.5) mm. When making adjustments, the adjustment gasket between the exhaust valve housing and the brake valve housing can be added or removed to make the adjustment.
4) Adjustment of the free travel of the pedal. Adjust the free travel adjustment screw of the brake valve pull arm to make its travel 1-3mm. The free stroke of screw insertion decreases; conversely, it increases.
2. Inspection and repair of the brake chamber
When the diaphragm in the brake chamber has cracks, deformations or ages and loses its elasticity, it should be replaced.
When the brake chamber spring shows obvious deformation or bending, it should be replaced. The spring tensions of the two brake chambers should be consistent; otherwise, they should be adjusted.
3) When the push rod is bent or the pressure plate is loose on the push rod, it should be repaired. When the pin holes of the push rod are worn, they should be repaired by surfacing welding.
After the brake chamber is reinstalled, the protruding part of the push rod should not exceed 40mm, and the push rod stroke should be 20-40mm. When the brake chamber is in operation, it should move smoothly without any obstruction and should not leak air.
3. Wheel brakes
When the brake CAM, camshaft and support journal are worn, they can be repaired after surfacing welding.
2) Adjustment of the clearance between the brake shoes of the wheel: Rotate the camshaft to make the clearance between the upper end of the brake shoes and the brake hub 0.4mm. Turn the adjustment worm of the brake camshaft adjustment arm to reduce the gap between the friction plate and the brake hub to 0.4mm.
When adjusting the lower end of the shoe, first loosen the lock nut of the shoe shaft, rotate the shoe shaft until the gap between the lower end of the shoe and the brake hub is 0.2-0.6mm, and then tighten the lock nut.
