In the scorching summer, drivers should pay attention to replenishing water in time and always keep heatstroke prevention medicine on hand during work. Similarly, when excavators are exposed to high-temperature working environments, they also require a series of maintenance and upkeep to ensure mechanical performance and construction efficiency!

1. Add and replace antifreeze in a timely manner

Don't be deceived by the name of antifreeze. Antifreeze is not only used in winter! The high boiling point characteristic enables it to effectively prevent the boiling of cooling water in hot summer, which is very important for daily use. So, if you don't want your beloved excavator to "get hot", check in time whether the antifreeze needs to be replaced or added. It is essential to replace it with the designated professional antifreeze. Do not mix different brands, otherwise it will corrode or clog the entire engine cooling system.

2. Check the brakes and lift the run-flat tires

For wheeled excavators, when working outdoors in summer, high temperatures can cause the tire pressure to rise, leading to a blowout. Therefore, it is necessary to frequently check the braking performance of the entire machine to reduce potential accident hazards. However, it is absolutely not advisable to forcibly cool down the tires and brakes by pouring cold water on them, as this will cause unpredictable damage to the equipment.

Iii. Correct and Healthy "Drinking Water

Just like drivers, excavators also need timely and correct "drinking water" in summer. Try to purchase the fuel you need from regular channels to maintain its quality. At the same time, when replenishing fuel and engine oil, one should not overdo it. Excessive "drinking" not only increases consumption but also accelerates the wear of parts such as cylinders.

Fourth, clogged water tanks, hydraulic oil radiators and air conditioning condensers should be frequently unblocked

The working environment of excavators is usually rather messy. After long-term operation, various waste materials tend to accumulate on the outer surfaces of the water tank, hydraulic oil radiator and air conditioning condenser of the equipment. These waste materials will hinder the heat dissipation effect of the equipment and cause unimaginable adverse consequences. Therefore, during the summer season, regular inspection and unblocking of these devices can prevent the excavator from overheating, keep it in good working condition, and also provide a cool and comfortable working environment for the driver in the cab.

V. Select the appropriate grease

The importance of high-quality grease to the performance of excavators is self-evident. Due to the high temperatures in summer, the working temperature of excavators also soars. As the temperature rises, the grease softens, and its adhesion performance decreases, leading to a decline in the lubrication performance of the device. Lubricating grease with good heat resistance can maintain its adhesion performance at higher operating temperatures, and its deterioration and failure process is also relatively slow. In fact, the cost has not increased while ensuring performance.

Six. Be cautious when dealing with water-related operations

In summer, there is a lot of rain, and sometimes short-term heavy rain occurs. One should be cautious when working in water. When water overflows the large rotating gear ring, the grease inside the gear ring should be replaced! Because the mixture of sand and mud with grease will increase the wear of the machine and reduce its service life. When working in water, do not tilt the excavator more than 15° to prevent the upper part from being submerged in water and damaging the radiator fan.
