Tenneco has launched a new series of Champion ® industrial spark plugs, further enriching its product portfolio

Advanced high-performance spark plugs are designed with a new ceramic formula to achieve longer service life and maintenance cycles for stationary engines and heavy-duty on-road and off-road vehicles

Scokey, Illinois, August 25, 2022 - Tenneco's (NYSE :TEN) Powertrain Division will introduce a range of new Champion® industrial spark plugs renowned for their reliable, powerful performance and durability in industrial applications. The newly designed spark plug products offer an economical dual-iridium solution, enriching the product portfolio of Tenneco's champion brand in the aftermarket.

Our latest two Champion industrial spark plugs feature an M14 thread 16mm hexagonal design and a new, stronger ceramic, which can achieve superior electrical insulation performance and mechanical strength. "The new design, named C-4001, can be used in stationary biogas power generation equipment, natural gas commercial trucks, buses and construction machinery applications," said Volker Scherer, Director of Industrial Ignition Units for Sales and engineering at Tenneco.

These J-Gap double iridium M14 high-performance spark plugs feature a series of design advancements, offering an electrode gap of 0.25mm for stationary engines and 0.40mm for on-road and off-road applications. A new ceramic formula, which enhances insulation performance and mechanical strength, can better prevent high-voltage faults. The unique nickel-plated casing and heat-sealing technology enhance mechanical strength, enabling it to withstand high combustion pressure. In addition, compared with similar spark plug technologies on the market, the combination of laser-welded iridium solder sheets and a large amount of custom-made precious metals has better improved the service life.

Our advanced ceramic formula can enhance the pressure resistance performance, thereby extending the service life of the spark plugs. In addition, the double-iridium alloy ensures a longer service life and maintenance cycle for our heavy and power industry customers. Scherer added.
