The first heavy-duty diesel engine in China that meets the National VI emission standards passed the emission durability test without any faults

Recently, the Yuchai YCK08 National VI engine successfully completed the 1,460-hour emission durability test and emission certification at the Tianjin (China) Automotive Technology and Research Center. It has become the first National VI heavy-duty diesel engine in China to complete all type inspection items, marking the successful completion of the YCK08 emission announcement certification work.

One year ago, YCK08 successfully passed the most stringent National VI B certification and became the first National VI heavy-duty diesel engine to obtain public environmental protection information. As required, the engine still needs to undergo an emission durability test. This inspection item requires the engine to complete within one year of obtaining environmental protection information disclosure.

As one of the type inspection items for emission announcement certification, the main purpose of emission durability is to determine the deterioration coefficient of the engine after-treatment system through test verification, ensuring that the emission durability complies with the requirements of the National VI emission regulations. Therefore, after a series of preparatory work including the issuance of engine technical status, prototype production, engine performance and emission confirmation, as well as the emission test certification before the durability test, Yuchai began the bench durability assessment test in early June this year.

During the entire durability test process, the engine did not experience any faults. A total of five emission test certifications, including the start and end, were completed, all meeting the emission limit requirements.

This certification test indicates that the YCK08 engine has fully met the requirements of emission regulations in terms of achieving emission standards and ensuring durability. This is the best test of the quality of Yuchai engines and also the best action practice of Yuchai's business philosophy of "green development and harmonious win-win".

Up to now, YCK08 has been matched with major vehicle manufacturers such as Dongfeng Liuzhou Automobile, Dongfeng Commercial, Shaanxi Automobile Commercial Vehicles, Zhengzhou Yutong, Xiamen King Long, and Suzhou King Long, covering a wide range of vehicle models including tractors, cargo trucks, engineering vehicles, buses, and highway coaches.
