What are the three most crucial steps in maintaining a chainsaw
Regularly clean the chainsaw: After being used for a period of time, the chainsaw will accumulate dust and dirt, and it needs to be cleaned regularly. Place the chainsaw in a well-ventilated area and gently wipe its surface with a damp cloth, especially the heat sink of the chainsaw's cylinder and the air filter.
Ensure the lubrication of the saw chain: The saw chain is an important component of the chainsaw and needs to be lubricated regularly. After stopping the chainsaw, take out the saw chain, apply a lubricant (such as sewing machine oil) to the saw chain, and then reinstall it on the chainsaw. Before use, the saw chain lubricating oil should be filled up. After starting, wait for the saw chain lubricating oil to be flung out before commencing work.
Regular inspection of chainsaws: Chainsaws need to be inspected regularly to ensure their normal operation. Regular inspection items include the wear and tear of the fuel tank, carburetor, air filter and saw chain of the chainsaw. The function of the air filter is to filter out sawdust, dust and other impurities, preventing them from mixing into the gas and entering the cylinder, thus avoiding serious malfunctions such as cylinder pulling. During the operation of a chainsaw, if faults such as stalling when refueling, weak operation, or engine overheating occur, the most likely cause is that the air filter is too dirty. The engine must be stopped, the air filter inspected and cleaned, and replaced if necessary
