Guidelines for Safe Operation of Eming Agricultural Drone
The agricultural drone, as an emerging aerial application platform, has complex systems, high interconnectivity, and variable application environments. This requires our operators to diligently practice their professional skills. During the operation, they must always keep in mind the principle of "safety first, prevention foremost", ensuring that the agricultural spraying operation is carried out "in an orderly, reliable, and efficient manner".
There are countless flight routes, but safety comes first. Drone operators should perform flight operations in a mentally alert state. Do not operate the drone when drunk, fatigued, taking medication, or when feeling unwell. In addition, the following norms must be followed:
Before the operation:
1. Conduct a check around the drone to ensure that all parts of the equipment, especially the critical operation parts, are in good technical condition, the hardware installation is correct, safe, and secure, the body, propellers, and batteries are undamaged, and no flammable or explosive items are attached. If any abnormalities are found, stop using it for self-inspection and maintenance. If unable to solve it by yourself, contact the Jingmu customer service and dealers in time.
2. Before the operation, check whether the camera, radar, and other sensor equipment are clean and in good condition, ensuring that the perception system of the drone is in the best state. The drone broadcasts, and if there are any abnormalities, contact the Jingmu customer service and dealers in time.
3. Pay attention to medication safety and personal protection. When preparing the medicine, wear protective gloves. If accidentally splashed into the eyes during the preparation, immediately wash with a large amount of water. If you feel unwell, stop the operation immediately and seek medical treatment promptly.
During the operation:
During the operation, closely monitor the operation data and the flight status of the drone to be able to make emergency control handling in time when unexpected situations occur. The following safety rules must be firmly remembered:
(1) Ensure that personnel are away from the operation machine: The take-off and landing sites should be selected in open areas with flat terrain, with no obstructions in the surrounding environment, no obvious protruding rocks, ditches, tree stumps, etc. on the ground, and ensure that there are no people or animals within the 10-meter radius of the take-off and landing area. Set up safety operation reminder signs if necessary. Personnel should stay away from the running machine and avoid contacting the rotating propellers with their bodies or other parts. Do not wear loose clothes when flying to avoid entanglement with the propellers and causing injuries.
(2) Ensure that the operation route area is free of people: Before taking off, ensure that no one enters the operation route area to prevent accidents that may cause casualties.
(3) Ensure that the dual obstacle avoidance is enabled: Safety comes first, efficiency second. Please pay attention to enabling obstacle avoidance during operation to provide more security for the operation.
(4) Do not operate in strong winds: During operation, pay attention to the wind speed in the environment. If the wind speed is above level 4, do not continue the flight operation. If the wind speed is between 3 and 4, it is recommended to reduce the load and fly with crosswind. The flight speed should be controlled within 4 meters per second.
(5) Do not operate with excessive load: Do not operate with an excessive load. If the drone exceeds the rated load during operation, it may cause insufficient flight power and lead to forced landing and other unexpected situations.
After the operation:
1. Collect and recycle the discarded pesticide packaging and clean wastewater centrally, and dispose of them properly to avoid poisoning from inhaling pesticides.
2. After the operation, clean and maintain the drone. Clean the important components such as the camera and radar, and clean the internal parts of the pesticide box and the spray head management system with soap water or soap powder water to prevent damage to the equipment caused by pesticide residues.
In addition to the above precautions, drone operators should also follow the following eight do-not-fly principles:
1. Do not fly over areas with people.
2. Do not fly within 20 kilometers of the airport center.
3. Do not fly within the flight routes of passenger aircraft.
4. Do not fly in sensitive areas such as military and border areas.
5. Do not fly in places explicitly prohibited from flying.
6. Do not fly with aircraft that have safety hazards or have not been fully prepared.
7. Do not fly if your mental state is bad or the weather conditions are poor.
8. Do not fly if your basic skills have not been practiced proficiently. Especially do not get close to people.
