I. Process Monitoring and Adjustment

Observe the surface condition in real time

Rough grinding stage: Check whether the oxide layer on the surface is evenly removed without any local residue.

Fine grinding stage: Use surface finish comparison templates (such as Ra 0.1 μm, Ra 0.2 μm) for comparison to ensure that the surface roughness meets the standards.

Polishing stage: Check the surface under strong light to see if it presents a mirror-like effect, without orange peel lines or scratches.

Temperature monitoring

Infrared thermometer: Measure the surface temperature of the workpiece every 5 minutes. The processing temperature for hard materials should be controlled at ≤80℃, and for soft materials, it should be ≤ 60℃.

Emergency measures: If the temperature exceeds the standard, immediately suspend processing. After the workpiece cools down to below 40℃, increase the water flow or reduce the rotational speed before continuing.

Handling of abnormal situations

Workpiece shaking: Check if the fixture is loose, re-fix the workpiece and adjust the feed speed.

Polishing wheel blockage: Stop the machine immediately, clean the abrasive residue with a special tool, and replace the severely clogged polishing wheel.

Water flow interruption: Stop the machine immediately, inspect the water pump, water pipes and filter screen, clear the blockage and then restart.

Ii. Safety Protection

Personal protective equipment

Goggles: Prevent abrasive splashes from injuring the eyes.

Dust mask: To prevent inhalation of metal dust (such as chromium and nickel dust produced during stainless steel processing).

Anti-slip gloves: Prevent hands from coming into contact with rotating parts or coolant.

Safe operation of equipment

Pre-startup inspection: Confirm that the protective cover and emergency stop button are functioning properly, and that the water source and power supply are securely connected.

Prohibited during operation

Touch the rotating polishing wheel or workpiece.

Adjust the protective cover or safety device.

Wear gloves when operating rotating parts (only for non-contact areas).

Emergency stop: In case of any abnormality, immediately press the emergency stop button to cut off the power and water supply.

Iii. Maintenance and Care

Daily maintenance

Clean the water tank: After the daily processing is completed, clean the abrasive residue and metal shavings in the water tank to prevent the water pump from being clogged.

Check the filter screen: Inspect the integrity of the filter screen weekly. Replace it in time if it is damaged to ensure smooth water flow.

Lubricated bearings: Add 2# lithium-based grease to the main shaft bearings of the polishing wheel every month to reduce wear.

Regular maintenance

Polishing wheel replacement: Depending on the wear condition, replace the polishing wheel every 200 to 500 hours (hard materials wear out faster).

Motor maintenance: Check the insulation resistance of the motor every 500 hours to ensure it is ≥ 1 MΩ to prevent leakage.

Seal inspection: Check the seals of the water pump and pipelines every three months. Replace them in time when they age to prevent water leakage.

Long-term disuse treatment

Drain the water tank: To prevent residual water from corroding the equipment.

Rust prevention treatment: Apply anti-rust oil to the surface of the polishing wheel and metal parts, and cover them with dust covers.

Storage environment: Keep the equipment storage area dry (humidity ≤ 60%) and the temperature 5-35℃.
