Perkins will showcase a variety of cutting-edge technological solutions at the 2019 Bauma China in Germany
The Bauma China in Munich, Germany, is scheduled to be held from April 8th to 14th, 2019. At that time, Perkins will showcase its full range of Euro V engines, as well as a number of future technologies, aftermarket products and digital solutions. The central theme of the booth will reflect Perkins' consistent corporate goals: diverse choices, all-round cooperation with customers, and providing appropriate solutions for original equipment manufacturers (Oems). Visitors will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Perkins' most comprehensive engine lineup and learn how the British manufacturer offers the broadest range of choices for Oems to meet their current and future needs.
Perkins' industrial engine lineup includes a wide range of models with displacements from 0.5 to 18L [power from 4 to 597kW (5 to 800hp)], and its product coverage is broader than that of other manufacturers in the engine industry. Five of the latest engines that can meet the EU V stage emission standards will be showcased at this exhibition. Also making their debut on the same stage are the world's first three products featuring hybrid power technology, which are bound to add luster to the Perkins booth (booth No. A4-336). These new engines will be the backbone of Perkins' non-road diesel engine lineup.
"Perkins has always provided world-class engines and configuration solutions that lead the industry, so our OEM customers can be confident that we can definitely offer them power systems that meet the needs of the market and application scenarios," said Steve Ferguson, president of Perkins.
Whether it is our latest generation of Euro V engines that meet the most stringent emission standards or the upcoming hybrid products, our engineering and technical team will work side by side with OEM customers to develop tailor-made solutions that fully meet their unique needs.
Hybrid engine
In recent years, Perkins has invested a significant amount of resources in multiple research and development projects of hybrid engines. This time, taking the opportunity of the 2019 Munich Bauma Exhibition, it will reveal to the world a number of technologies aimed at adding real value to OEM customers, with the goal of assisting them in designing the next generation of non-road equipment.
Matt Coleman, the product director of Perkins, said, "For construction/engineering machinery, simply transferring hybrid or electric technologies from other industry sectors such as trucks, automobiles or ships directly over is not enough to cope." Due to the specific working cycles, operating conditions and assembly limitations of non-road machinery, the power systems that come with them must adopt specific configurations and be deeply customized to meet the needs of individual application scenarios.
Through close technical cooperation with OEM customers and by using a large amount of actual data from construction sites, we have successfully developed solutions that truly meet the needs of the construction machinery industry. The benefit for OEM customers to cooperate with Perkins is that it can accelerate the advancement of their product research and development plans, thereby saving a lot of time and money.
The rechargeable hybrid, mechanical hybrid and hydraulic hybrid technologies released by Perkins at the Bauma China in Germany will significantly enhance its existing lineup of diesel engines ranging from 0.5 to 18L, ensuring that it can provide equipment manufacturers and their customers with more efficient, quieter and less fuel-efficient mechanical solutions, regardless of which power solution they choose.
Euro V engine
Perkins will showcase a variety of engines that meet the EU Stage V emission standards, including diesel engines for non-road mobile machinery and power generation suitable for all major power segments. These engines are scheduled to be launched in batches starting from this year.
All members of the Perkins Euro V product lineup, from the mechanical 400 series engine with a power of 18.9kW (25hp) and a displacement of 1.7L to the brand-new Perkins® Syncro 3.6L engine with a power of 100kW (134hp), are all compact in size. But it is a power system with extremely outstanding power and torque. To highlight the wide coverage of this product lineup, a 1200 series four-cylinder engine specially designed for the power generation market has also been brought along. This model has a power of 120 kVA and can meet the emission requirements of Euro V mobile generators. In addition, there are two models representing the more powerful end of the product lineup: a 1700 series six-cylinder engine with a displacement of 9.3L and a power output of 340 kW (456 hp); And the 2400 series engine, which made its debut at the Bauma China in Munich, has a displacement of 12.5L. Both its power and torque are extremely powerful, reaching 430 kW (577 hp) and 2634 Nm (1943 lb ft) respectively.
The Euro V engines developed by Perkins adopt a number of advanced technologies, including common rail injection systems, selective catalytic reduction systems (SCR), diesel oxidation catalytic converters (DOC), and diesel particulate filters (DPF). To highlight the extremely compact size and high flexibility of Perkins products, the efficient after-treatment system equipped in the 1200 series will also be showcased at the same event. To ensure that the working cycle and load of the engine are not affected under any circumstances and that the production efficiency of end users can be maintained at all times, Perkins Euro V engines will continue to adopt an automatic regeneration process that does not require the intervention of machines or operators. The preferred supplier of components and after-sales service
Perkins will set up a separate booth at the Bauma China in Munich for the first time (Booth No. : A5-207), showcasing its components and aftermarket products. During the exhibition, equipment owners and operators are welcome to visit the parts inquiry desk in person. You can also have face-to-face communication with Perkins' technical team. At that time, representatives from the Perkins agent network will also be on site, including Perkins' German authorized agent BU Power Systems. They will all be very willing to negotiate face-to-face with users.
Digital solutions
Perkins will continue to promote the Perkins® My Engine App at Bauma Munich 2019. This is a free mobile application available in multiple languages, allowing customers to easily and conveniently access value-added data related to the engine, such as tips for routine maintenance items and parts manuals.
