Maintenance
Precautions for tire maintenance of commercial concrete mixer trucks
The general service life of the tires of concrete mixer trucks is 4 to 5 years. However, due to long-term exposure to intense sunlight and harsh road conditions on construction sites, the tires of concrete mixer trucks often fail to reach their maximum service life and need to be replaced every 2 to 3 years. In terms of the lifespan of rubber, tires can be used for up to five years at most. Some bad habits during driving often lead to a shortened lifespan of the mixer truck. The cost of tires is no small sum. Paying attention to the maintenance of the tires of the mixer truck can extend their service life.
Avoid sudden braking when driving
The body of a mixer truck is heavy, and it is even heavier when bearing weight. Generally speaking, it is necessary to control the driving speed. Once sudden braking occurs, the brake wear caused by the self-weight and speed is fatal to the tires, especially in poor road conditions. Sudden braking increases the tire pressure, and at the same time, sharp foreign objects such as glass fragments are also very likely to Pierce the tires, and tire blowouts occur from time to time.
It is not advisable to water for heat dissipation.
High temperatures and long periods of high-speed driving can cause the temperature of tires to rise. At this time, the best way to cool down is to park the vehicle in a shady place and let it cool down gradually by itself. It is not advisable to water it urgently to dissipate heat. Strong thermal expansion and contraction are very detrimental to the rubber of the tires, accelerating rubber aging and thus reducing the lifespan of the tires.
The pressure of the pneumatic tire must meet the standard
Different types of tires have corresponding tire pressure values. Every time a tire is inflated, it must meet the tire pressure standard. Both too high and too low pressure are very detrimental to the tire, and it is very easy for the tire to burst and wear out. When inflating, a tire pressure 5% to 10% higher than the standard is within a reasonable range. At the same time, adding nitrogen to the tires is also a good solution.
Refuse overloading and speeding
Not overloading and not speeding are not only for the sake of tires, but also for the safety of life. Drivers must keep in mind that they must never overload or speed.
