1.36 degrees per kilometer, a new model for the operation of new energy heavy-duty trucks driven by hub - hub power
Driven by both policy and market forces, new energy heavy-duty trucks have witnessed explosive growth. Terminal registration data shows that in the first quarter of this year, a total of 30,298 new energy heavy-duty trucks were sold in China, with sales exceeding 30,000 units for the first time in the same period of history, and a year-on-year growth rate of 177%.
A certain coal transportation company in Shanxi Province successively put into operation 56 new energy heavy-duty trucks equipped with hub integrated electric drive axles around the New Year's Day. These trucks are used for short-distance transportation in coal mines. Each vehicle travels about 300 kilometers round trip every day. "The road conditions are a mixture of plains and mountain roads. There are many mountain roads, and it is necessary to frequently deal with uphill and downhill sections and curves. Among them, there is a very large slope that needs to be climbed up and down. The working conditions are rather complex, but the performance of this batch of vehicles has always been relatively stable and no faults have occurred.
In terms of data performance, "Every day we tally the operational status of the vehicles. For instance, on April 28th, the average energy consumption of this batch of vehicles was 1.36 kilowatt-hours per kilometer. The best vehicle had an energy consumption of only 1.13 kilowatt-hours per kilometer, which was 0.23 kilowatt-hours per kilometer lower than our set target value. The performance was truly outstanding."
The stable and excellent energy consumption performance comes from the powerful synergy of the high-efficiency electric drive system of the disk hub.

01
The hub and disc integrated heavy-duty truck electric drive axle highly integrates the motor, reducer and axle, featuring a more compact structure, lighter axle body weight and more conducive to battery bottom placement.
02
It adopts a powerful combination of "axial flux motor + three-speed transmission", taking into account the working conditions of both low-speed high-torque and high-speed high-power.
03
The hub axial flux motor can achieve a working efficiency of over 92% under conditions above 92%, with a larger high-efficiency zone.
04
Axial magneto-powered direct drive at the wheel end eliminates the need for a transmission shaft, reduces transmission loss, increases transmission efficiency by 8%, and doubles the energy recovery torque.
05
The vehicle is equipped with a dual-axle layout, combined with differential gear shifting and power compensation technology. There is no power interruption during gear shifting, and it can switch between single and dual-axle drive modes according to the load conditions, further reducing energy consumption.
Based on comprehensive calculations, compared with the central direct drive axle solution, the energy consumption cost per kilometer of the integrated hub electric drive axle is reduced by approximately 15%, and the unit energy consumption cost is reduced by about 5% compared with other integrated axle solutions.
