Maintenance
Maintenance of Truck Crane Engines
Fuel filter
The frequency of fuel filter replacement depends on the level of impurities in the fuel. Generally, it should be replaced every 500 hours or when the engine power drops. The fuel filter is not allowed to be pre-filled with fuel. It must be pre-filled with fuel using the hand fuel pump installed on the vehicle after the fuel filter is installed. If the fuel filter is pre-filled directly, debris will enter the fuel system and damage engine components. The fuel tank is best cleaned every 500 hours of operation, and at the very least once a year.
Engine oil and oil filter
Change the engine oil and filter every 250 hours. Park the vehicle on a flat road, warm it up and stop it for 15 minutes. Wipe the oil stains off the dipstick with a cloth, fully insert it into the engine, pull out the dipstick, and the oil level should be between the two marks
Air filter
Air filter maintenance should be carried out every three months or 250 hours, or when the intake resistance indicator shows in the red area. The interval period should be reduced in places with a lot of dust. After the main filter element has been maintained five times, the main filter element and the safety filter element need to be replaced. When the engine is running, the air filter must never be removed. Damage and cracks in the intake pipe can also cause damage to the engine.
Heat dissipation system
Check the antifreeze level every day. If it is insufficient, add antifreeze or pure water. Adding tap water or water with high acid, alkali and salt content will accelerate the deterioration of the antifreeze, cause scale formation and corrode the radiator. Check the radiator hose for cracks, cuts or flattening every week. Change the antifreeze every two years. The best time for changing the antifreeze is in late autumn or early winter. The grade of antifreeze should be changed according to the local temperature.
Battery
Check the electrolyte level of the battery (maintenance-free batteries do not require inspection), the terminal posts, and the battery eyes of the maintenance-free battery. Check the electrolyte level every three months (maintenance-free batteries do not require inspection), and ensure the terminal posts are secure. The normal liquid level should be 15-20mm higher than the plates. If the photoelectric eye shows green, the battery is normal. It shows black. The battery is damaged.
