17 Issues to Note for Daily Maintenance and Driving of Oil Tankers

The traveling part that carries the oil tank, in layman's terms, is the car chassis. Most drivers are quite experienced in this area. The problem is that after the oil tanker is equipped with an oil pump, we take power from the engine and install the drive shaft and the power take-off. With these two devices, we need to be particularly careful during operation. If not operated properly, the power take-off will be scrapped.

2. For the use and maintenance of the oil pump, please strictly follow its operation and maintenance manual. The manual is provided with the vehicle.

3. For the use and maintenance of the fuel dispenser, please strictly follow its user manual. The manual is provided with the vehicle.

4. If the oil output is slow and no oil can be drawn, please check the safety valve and the filter screen. These should be inspected and cleaned frequently.

5. Oil tanks and pipeline systems should be cleaned regularly. Regularly check whether all connections in the pipeline system are well connected and the seals are reliable.

6. To ensure the cleanliness of the oil tank, the oil tank and the oil transfer system should be cleaned regularly. Lubricating oil should be frequently applied to the inner and outer joints at both ends of the oil transfer rubber hose to facilitate disassembly and assembly. After each operation of the oil pipe is completed, the outer end caps (plug caps) of the inlet and outlet and both ends (plug caps) of the oil transfer rubber hose should be promptly covered to ensure the cleanliness inside the pipe.

7. The oil loading volume should not exceed the rated loading mass. (Converted based on the density of the oil).

8. The medium passing through the ball valve should not be too dirty to protect the sealing ring and extend the service life of the ball valve. Each ball valve should not be operated in a half-closed and half-open state for a long time, otherwise the sealing ring is prone to deterioration. During operation, the handles of each ball valve should be in the closed state.

9. The inlet screen of the pump should be frequently disassembled and cleaned to prevent oil residue from clogging the filter screen and affecting the flow rate.

10. The breathing valve should be kept clean to ensure it is in working condition. The spring inside the valve must not be replaced at will to avoid affecting the inhalation and exhalation effects. When the breathing valve is blocked, there is a risk of deformation of the tank.

11. To prevent fire accidents in oil trucks, it is not allowed to strike the parts of the oil truck with metal objects when the exhaust pipe, muffler is damaged, the pipeline leaks oil, the conductive electrode is bad or broken, so as to avoid sparks. Fire-fighting equipment should always be ready on the oil truck.

12. If the sedimentation tank under the oil tank freezes, do not use fire to bake it. You can use hot steam to thaw it or drive the vehicle into a greenhouse to defrost it.

Before the refueling vehicle starts operation, it must be inserted into the damp ground with an electric pole. The ground tape should be grounded. During the operation, it should always maintain good static electricity conduction.

14. Before setting out, check the fire extinguisher device. The operators of the refueling vehicle should be familiar with the usage method of the fire extinguisher and carry out inspection and maintenance in accordance with its instructions.

Before the oil tanker starts operation, it is necessary to check whether the pipeline system is leaking oil, whether the grounding wire is disconnected, and whether the exhaust pipe is damaged. Any problems found should be solved first before the operation.

16. When measuring oil, relevant regulations should be followed. In winter, if there is any water in the self-priming pump, it must be drained completely to prevent the pump body from freezing and breaking.

17. When it is necessary to enter the oil tank for work, good ventilation should be ensured and there must be someone outside the tank for protection. When necessary, clean the tank with soapy water before operation.
