Causes and maintenance of rear wheel swing fault in Steyr series

Fault phenomenon: During normal driving, the rear wheels of the car swing left and right. Due to the left and right swing of the rear wheels, the wear of bearings and tires is accelerated, and at the same time, the power loss of the engine is also increased.

Cause of malfunction

1. The hub bearing is too loose or the bearing is damaged.

2. Hub deformation.

3. Partial damage to the tire. Damage, or poor quality of the tires.

4. The wheels are severely unbalanced.

5. The rear axle housing is bent and deformed.

Troubleshooting

Adjust the hub bearings and replace the damaged ones.

Deformed wheel hubs should be replaced. During use, if the K38 vehicle is overloaded, the axle housing will bend and deform. The bending of the axle housing will cause changes in the force on the hub bearing, and the hub will also deform and suffer severe wear.

3. If the tires are damaged due to poor road conditions or overloading during use, they should be replaced in time. There are many types of tires on the market at present. Please choose tires of good quality.

4. Severe imbalance of the wheels is the main cause of the left and right swaying of the rear wheels. The most important way to solve this problem is to improve the manufacturing quality.

5. Deformation of the rear axle housing. Deformation of the rear axle housing causes the rear wheels to swing, which is more common on the K38 and K29 models of dump trucks. This is due to the one-sided pursuit of economic benefits and severe overloading, which has led to serious deformation of the rear axle.
