In October 2007, China's first ISG hybrid was launched at Yuchai and gradually put into commercial operation. Subsequently, Yuchai introduced multiple solutions including parallel hybrid, hybrid and parallel hybrid, and pure electric. In 2019, Yuchai released its full range of new energy power system products in the industry for the first time in Beijing, including four major new energy power systems: Yuchai range-extending power system, e-CVT power-split hybrid power system, electric drive axle power system and fuel cell system, making Yuchai the enterprise with the most diverse new energy power type spectrum in China.

After the launch of the Yuchai Xinlan product, it has demonstrated outstanding product advantages. Take the flagship product of Yuchai Xinlan Hybrid Power - the range extender as an example. It features excellent mechanical coupling and performance coupling, which means that the length of the entire hybrid power system is significantly shortened and the weight is greatly reduced. At the same time, it also optimizes the matching efficiency between the engine and the motor.

The range extender products include 10 series and 35 models ranging from 25kW to 400kW. Currently, they have been platformized and serialized and have received numerous recognitions. A total of 189 vehicle models have been matched and developed, covering buses, trucks and construction machinery, with the market share of all of them ranking first in the industry.

Yuchai's hybrid power system achieves a fuel-saving effect of 40%, leading the industry. Yuchai possesses the world's first power-split plug-in hybrid power system. Not long ago, Yuchai also developed the largest power integrated flywheel range extender in China, with a motor efficiency as high as 96%. In the field of hybrid power, the hybrid power system, as a leading product of Yuchai Xinlan, has received over 1,000 orders this year, enjoying a leading position.

What will be the future of Yuchai's new energy power journey?

As a leader in the internal combustion engine field, Yuchai is also constantly running in the new energy race and has already achieved a leading position in areas such as hybrid power. On this brand-new track, Yuchai has accelerated its pace by leveraging its unique advantages and its solid foundation in the commercial vehicle sector.

Yuchai, focusing on the development directions of green, low-carbon and intelligent industries, is promoting both traditional power and new energy power. Zhong Yuwei, the chairman of Yuchai Xinlan, stated, "The mission of Yuchai Xinlan is the same as that of Yuchai, both being 'to create customer value and drive a better life.'" Yuchai Xinlan can only succeed if it helps its customers succeed. The mission and goal of Yuchai Xinlan are very clear. We are targeting commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses, construction machinery, agricultural machinery and ships. These are all tools for users to make money, unlike passenger cars which are consumer goods.

When it comes to future goals, Zhong Yuwei said, "In 2022, Yuchai Xinlan is expected to sell 6,500 new energy systems, including 5,000 pure electric systems, 1,500 hybrid systems, and 100 hydrogen power systems." By 2025, pure electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel will develop in parallel, with the aim of achieving an overall target of 100,000 units.
