Daqing Oilfield has chosen to equip the fracturing equipment with Allison 9832 OFS oilfield series gearboxes

The Jereh oilfield fracturing truck equipped with Allison transmission 9832 OFS in Daqing Oilfield, China, has been fully proven to meet the high-pressure demands under harsh working conditions in the energy sector after two consecutive years of service.

Beijing, March 24, 2022 - As a leading designer and manufacturer of drive solutions for traditional and electrified vehicles and a globally renowned producer of fully automatic transmissions for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, Allison Transmission Company is pleased to announce that a Jerry 2500 fracturing truck equipped with the Allison 9832 OFS oilfield series transmission has been highly praised by the Daqing Oilfield fleet for its unparalleled reliability and numerous other advantages after being tested.

"Since purchasing 52 Jereh manufactured oilfield fracturing trucks equipped with Allison 9832 OFS gearboxes two years ago, they are currently mainly used for large-scale fracturing and shale oil fracturing operations. They operate for about 20 hours a day, with high pressure and long continuous working hours," said Li Na, a planner at the Downhole Operations Branch of Daqing Oilfield Co., LTD. We are very satisfied that these equipment vehicles can maintain high operational efficiency and reliability under the most demanding conditions. The Jerry 2500 fracturing truck is perfectly combined with the Allison gearbox, demonstrating their extraordinary reputation and quality.

As the largest oil field in China, Daqing Oilfield produces over 40 million tons of crude oil annually. Located in the northern region of China, it is one of the world's rare giant sandstone oil fields. The rugged terrain and long, harsh winters pose a huge challenge to oil extraction. The 2500 fracturing truck, designed and manufactured by Yantai Jerer Petroleum Equipment Technology Co., LTD., adopts an 8x6 chassis (Mercedes-Benz/MAN/ Sinotruk/Beiben). The model is driven by a 16V4000S83 Detroit diesel engine and is matched with an Allison 9832 OFS oilfield series transmission. This engine has an output power exceeding 3,000 horsepower and an output torque of up to 12,200 Newton-meters. The vehicle weighs approximately 45 tons in total and is equipped with oil fracturing equipment, such as the plunger pump independently developed by Jerry.

The Allison 9832 OFS oilfield series gearbox is lightweight and compact, making it easy to install the Jerry 2500 fracturing truck. This model offers the best power-to-weight ratio in the industry. With a transmission input power of up to 3,200 horsepower, its weight is 44% lighter than that of similar products. In addition to providing continuous and reliable torque, the transmission features stable working oil pressure, low oil temperature, wide speed ratio range, and pipeline pressure testing function, among other characteristics.

After two years of continuous operation, we found that the Allison transmission does not require any major overhauls and is very convenient to maintain. "This has greatly reduced the downtime of the fracturing equipment and naturally increased the efficiency of our underground operations," Li Na said. Allison's after-sales service responds promptly and handles problems quickly and efficiently. We are willing to continue purchasing the above-mentioned models.

When conducting fracturing oil well operations, a reliable gearbox is indispensable. Over the years, Allison products have been well-tested in this field, demonstrating their globally leading reliability and durability. The advantages such as longer maintenance cycle, smaller gear ratio step difference, smoother gear shifting, less impact on the engine and pump, reduced total vehicle cost and training expenses have made it the first choice for oilfield customers.
