What are the precautions for a two-cylinder diesel generator
When using a two-cylinder diesel generator, the following points should be noted to ensure safe and efficient operation and extend the service life of the equipment:
I. Pre-startup inspection
Fuel and lubrication system
Make sure there is sufficient diesel in the fuel tank and the fuel lines are unobstructed without leakage to avoid engine damage caused by lack of fuel.
Check if the oil level is between the upper and lower marks on the dipstick, if the viscosity of the oil is normal and there is no deterioration. Replace it in time if necessary.
Cooling system
Check whether the water level in the cooling water tank is sufficient and whether there is any leakage in the cooling system. Antifreeze should be used in northern regions to prevent the water tank from freezing in winter.
Electrical system
Check that the battery is fully charged, the wiring is firm and there is no short circuit. Ensure good grounding to avoid electrical faults.
Air filter
Check if the air filter is clogged. Clean or replace it if necessary to ensure smooth air intake.
Ii. Startup and Operation
Start operation
Before starting, make sure the output air switch is in the off position to avoid starting under load.
The startup time should not exceed 10 seconds. If it fails to start three times in a row, check the cause and try again after an interval of 2 minutes.
After starting, let it idle for 3 to 5 minutes (appropriately extended in winter). Once the oil pressure is normal (≥0.2MPa) and there is no oil or water leakage, then increase the speed to the rated speed.
Operation monitoring
During operation, closely monitor parameters such as oil pressure (0.3-0.5MPa), water temperature (≤90℃), oil temperature (≤95℃), voltage (400V), and frequency (50Hz).
Regularly check the fuel, engine oil and coolant levels and replenish them in time.
Avoid long-term no-load operation to prevent carbon deposits on the fuel injectors.
Load management
Gradually increase the load, strive for three-phase balance, and avoid overload operation.
Iii. Shutdown Operation
Shutdown steps
First, cut off the load, then turn off the output air switch. Gradually reduce the speed to idle and let it run idle for 3 to 5 minutes before stopping the machine.
Maintenance after shutdown
After the machine stops, check for any abnormalities in all components and clean the dust and oil stains on the surface of the equipment.
When the machine is shut down for a long time, the cooling water should be drained completely to prevent corrosion.
Iv. Safety and Maintenance
Safe operation
It is strictly prohibited to carry out maintenance or servicing when the generator is in operation to avoid electric shock or mechanical injury
Keep the computer room well-ventilated, stay away from flammable and explosive items, be equipped with fire extinguishers and conduct regular inspections.
Operators must wear personal protective equipment such as protective glasses and gloves.
Regular maintenance
Change the engine oil and filters (diesel filter, oil filter, air filter) every 150 hours of operation or every six months.
Regularly inspect and tighten the anchor bolts, and clean the dust on the distribution board and cold air outlets.
Carry out first-level maintenance every three months and second-level maintenance once a year.
Environmental adaptation
Avoid using generators in bad weather such as thunderstorms and strong winds to prevent equipment damage or safety accidents.
V. Fault Handling
Abnormal shutdown
If any abnormalities such as low oil pressure, excessively high water temperature, black smoke, or unusual noises are detected, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection and troubleshooting.
Emergency response
In case of emergencies such as runaway, you can immediately reduce the pressure or block the air filter inlet to force the engine to stop.
Professional maintenance
For faults that cannot be eliminated by oneself, professional maintenance personnel should be contacted for inspection and repair. It is strictly forbidden to operate with faults.
