Equipment type

Raw material cleaning equipment: including pretreatment equipment, cleaning equipment, etc., is used to remove weeds, debris, sand, stones, ironware, etc. from raw materials to ensure their cleanliness and facilitate the smooth progress of subsequent crushing and filtration operations.

Crushing and filtration equipment: mainly includes curved screen machines, filing and grinding machines, overflow machines, fine filters, microfilters, sand and mud removers, etc. Crushing is to extract the starch from the taro tubers, while filtration is to filter out impurities such as crude fiber, fat and protein from the tubers, ensuring the purity of the starch.

Concentration, refining and separation equipment: It is used to separate and remove fine fibers, yellow powder, oil powder, pectin and other substances in starch milk, improving the concentration, precision and quality of starch.

Dehydration and drying equipment: mainly includes vacuum dehydrators and air flow dryers. A large amount of water is used in the cleaning, crushing and filtration processes of taro starch processing. Dehydration and drying equipment can fully dehydrate and dry the starch, making it convenient for storage and transportation. If the moisture content in starch is too high, it is prone to spoilage and mold.

Process flow and corresponding equipment

Feeding and lifting: The raw taro materials are sent into the cleaning equipment through a conveyor belt or elevator to prepare for subsequent processing.

Cleaning: Use equipment such as hydraulic flow tanks and screw cleaning machines to remove the sand and impurities on the surface of the taro to ensure the cleanliness of the raw materials.

Secondary cleaning: Further cleaning of the taro after the initial cleaning to remove finer impurities.

Primary crushing: Use specialized crushing equipment to initially crush the thoroughly cleaned taro to release the starch particles.

Secondary crushing: The materials after primary crushing are further finely crushed to make it easier for starch particles to separate from the tubers.

Slurry and residue separation: Through the screening process, the starch slurry and fiber residue in the crushed material are separated.

Secondary separation: Further screening of the separated starch slurry to enhance the purity of the starch.

Sand removal: Use sand removal equipment to remove sand particles and other hard impurities from the starch slurry.

Secondary separation of slurry: Fine separation of starch slurry is carried out again to ensure the quality of starch.

Cyclone washing: Use a cyclone to wash the starch slurry to remove any remaining non-starch substances.

Dehydration: A vacuum filtration dehydrator is used to dehydrate the starch, which also has a washing effect.

Air flow drying: Wet starch is dried by suspending it in a high-speed flowing hot air flow through an air flow dryer.

Equipment features

Diverse processing capabilities: The processing capabilities of different models and configurations of equipment vary. For instance, the processing capacity of a simple taro starch production line can reach 4-5 tons per hour, which can meet the demands of production at various scales.

Durable material: The main body of the equipment is mostly made of carbon steel or stainless steel, which has high strength and corrosion resistance, and can adapt to long-term production operation and different environmental conditions.

Enhanced degree of automation: Some equipment has achieved automated operation, reducing manual intervention and improving production efficiency as well as the stability of product quality.

Energy conservation and environmental protection: Some new types of equipment are designed with a focus on energy conservation, reducing energy consumption and simultaneously minimizing the discharge of wastewater and waste residue during the production process.

Key points for selection

Production scale: Select equipment with appropriate production capacity based on your own production scale. If the production scale is small, simple type equipment can be selected. If the production scale is large, large-scale and efficient production line equipment should be selected.

Equipment quality: Examine the material, manufacturing process and component quality of the equipment, and select reliable and durable equipment to reduce the cost of later maintenance and replacement.

Technical parameters: Pay attention to the technical parameters of the equipment such as processing capacity, water consumption, and electricity demand to ensure that the equipment can meet the production requirements and be compatible with the existing water and electricity supply conditions.

Manufacturer's reputation: Choose a manufacturer with a good reputation and word-of-mouth. They can provide higher-quality products and comprehensive after-sales services, such as equipment installation and commissioning, technical training, maintenance and repair, etc.
