The daily maintenance operations of the cutting type sewage pump cover multiple aspects such as installation, operation, cleaning, component replacement, environmental management and shutdown protection, as follows:

I. Installation and Operation Inspection

Cable inspection: Before use, check whether the cable is in good condition to avoid breakage or damage caused by handling or installation. If the cable is found to be broken, it should be replaced in time to prevent electric leakage accidents.

Wiring confirmation: Confirm the color of the ground wire (usually yellow or green) or the mark, and connect it properly in accordance with the prescribed procedures. Select appropriate protective devices, such as leakage protection devices and air switches, and do not directly connect them to the knife switch.

Power supply and rotation direction inspection: Connect the power cord as per the standard. After testing the power connection, check whether the electric pump is working normally and determine if the rotation direction is correct. If the steering is incorrect, any two of the three power cords need to be replaced.

Operation status monitoring: During operation, listen for abnormal noises (such as metal friction sounds may indicate bearing damage, and humming sounds may suggest impeller blockage). Touch the pump body with your hand to check if the vibration has significantly increased (it is necessary to check the fixing bolts or the balance of the impeller).

Ii. Cleaning and Anti-clogging

Impeller and flow channel cleaning: After each use (especially when handling thick and viscous slurries), run the pump in clean water for a few minutes to flush out the residues inside. After regular power-off, remove the pump and clear the entanglements (such as cloth strips and hair) on the impeller and cutting blades.

Pipeline inspection: Regularly check if the outlet pipeline is blocked. Disassemble the pipeline to clear foreign objects or deformed parts to ensure smooth water flow.

Inlet protection: Install a filter screen (with a diameter ≤ the diameter of particles allowed by the pump) at the inlet to intercept large debris (such as plastic bags and stones), reducing the risk of impeller and flow channel blockage.

Iii. Component Replacement and Lubrication

Seal replacement: Regularly replace seals (such as mechanical seals or oil chamber seals) to ensure the sealing performance of the pump. If water ingress or oil emulsification is found, the sealing parts should be replaced immediately or special lubricating oil should be replenished.

Bearing lubrication: Apply high-temperature grease (such as lithium-based grease) to open bearings at least once a year. The lubricating oil of the split-case sewage pump should be changed after 100 hours of operation within the first month, and then every 500 hours thereafter.

Inspection of vulnerable parts: Regularly check the wear of the impeller, sealing ring and O-ring. If the wear exceeds 1mm, they need to be replaced. When choosing an impeller, select the appropriate material (such as high-hardness wear-resistant material) based on the characteristics of the sewage.

Iv. Environment and Storage Management

High-temperature environmental protection: If used in a high-temperature environment (such as hot water discharge), a high-temperature resistant model should be selected or a heat dissipation device installed to prevent the motor from overheating.

Winter anti-freezing measures: After parking in cold seasons, unscrew the water release plug at the bottom of the pump body to empty the medium to prevent the pump body from cracking due to freezing.

Long-term storage handling: Clean and dry the pump body, and apply anti-rust oil (for cast iron parts). Store in a cool and well-ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent rubber parts from aging.

V. Maintenance for Deactivation and Special Scenarios

Pre-treatment before shutdown: When not in use, first close the gate valve and pressure gauge, and then stop the motor. If the pump is to be out of use for a long time, disassemble it, dry the water, apply grease to the rotating parts and joints, and then reinstall it.

Special medium treatment: When transporting wastewater containing fibers and hair, give priority to choosing sewage pumps with cutting functions and regularly check the sharpness of the blades. When transporting corrosive liquids (such as acid and alkali wastewater), pumps made of corrosion-resistant materials (such as 316 stainless steel or PVDF plastic) should be selected, and the pump cavity should be flushed in time after use.

Post-maintenance testing: After maintenance or replacement of components, conduct a trial run check to ensure there are no abnormalities. Conduct a pressure resistance test to ensure the sealing performance of the pump.
