How to maintain and service a chainsaw
Daily maintenance
Daily maintenance includes:
Check whether there are cracks and broken rivets on the saw chain links.
Make sure the saw chain is lubricated. Technicians say that a small amount of lubricating oil must always be thrown out of the saw chain. Do not work when the saw chain is not lubricated
Clean the spark plugs, pull the starting rope 2 to 3 times, and check that the chainsaw engine is placed in a dry and well-ventilated location.
Check whether the mixture ratio of gasoline and engine oil is correct and the quality of the mixed oil.
Post-maintenance
Post-maintenance includes:
Thoroughly clean the entire chainsaw, especially the cylinder heat sink and air filter of the chainsaw. Wipe the surface of the chainsaw with an oily cloth
Drain the carburetor of the chainsaw, otherwise the pump membrane of the carburetor of the chainsaw will stick, affecting the next start-up
Empty the fuel in the chainsaw's fuel tank, then start the chainsaw engine and let it work until it automatically shuts off.
Remove the saw chain and guide plate of the chainsaw, clean and inspect them, and spray protective oil.
Fill the oil tank of the chainsaw chain with 1.
Remove the spark plugs of the chainsaw and pour a little engine oil into the cylinder. After pulling the engine 2 to 3 times with the chainsaw starting rope, install the chainsaw spark plug and pull the chainsaw starting rope again to stop it at a position where it feels strong (compression top dead center).
Place the chainsaw engine in a dry and well-ventilated location, away from heat sources or open flames.
The chainsaw should be stored in a dry and safe place to prevent unauthorized personnel (such as children) from using it. 1.
If the chainsaw is not going to be used for a long time, clean the chainsaw chain with a brush and then store it in the oil bath.
Maintenance during special periods
Special period maintenance includes:
The running-in period for newly manufactured machines is from the start of use until the third oil filling. During use, do not let the engine run at high speed without load to avoid imposing additional burdens on the engine during the running-in period. During the running-in stage, all movable parts must be adjusted to each other, and there will be considerable frictional resistance between the driving components. Generally, the engine of a high-branch saw reaches its maximum power after 5 to 15 oil refills.
After a long period of full-load operation during work, let the engine idle for a short time to allow the cooling airflow to carry away most of the heat, so that the drive unit components (ignition device, carburetor) will not suffer adverse consequences due to heat accumulation
