In the prevention and control of rice diseases and pests, the use of fogging machines for spraying pesticides has the advantages of high efficiency and good control effect. However, due to the low water consumption and high concentration of the pesticide solution when using a fogging machine for spraying, high-concentration and extremely fine particle pesticide mists are prone to form around the machine. If the operation is improper, it often leads to uneven application of pesticides in certain areas, resulting in poor control effects. Meanwhile, the correct maintenance and care of the fogging machine is an important measure to improve its technical performance and operation quality and extend its service life. Therefore, in order to enable the majority of rice growers to better master the correct usage and maintenance methods of the fogging machine and ensure timely and effective control of rice blast and other pests and diseases, the correct usage and maintenance methods of the fogging machine are introduced as follows:

1. Assemble the machinery in accordance with the instructions, and check that all components are in the correct positions, the bolts are tightened, the air channels are unobstructed, the moving parts are flexible, and the protective covers are in good condition.

2. Add lubricating oil to the crankcase of the grade specified in the manual to the prescribed level. Before each subsequent use, check it and inspect and add lubricating oil to the gasoline engine as required.

3. Add fuel in accordance with the ratio of gasoline to engine oil specified in the manual. When refueling, keep away from open flames and do not remove the filter screen to prevent dirt from entering the fuel tank.

4. Before starting the operation, a test spray with clean water should be conducted to check if the fogging machine is working properly, whether there is any blockage or leakage, and whether the nozzle configuration and the selection of spray hole plates are correct, as well as whether the spray quality meets the requirements. Only after confirming that everything is normal can the formal operation be carried out.

5. Before adding chemicals, make sure the liquid medicine switch is turned off. After adding chemicals, tighten the lid of the medicine tank. Start the engine and slowly pull the damper handle by hand to make it fully open. Then run at low speed for 3 to 5 minutes. If water is seen spraying out and there is no abnormal sound, gradually increase the speed to the rated speed. Then press the pressure relief handle and gradually tighten the pressure regulating wheel in a clockwise direction to increase the pressure. After the pressure indicator reaches the required working pressure, tighten the fixing nut.

6. After each day's work is completed, under the operating pressure, continue to spray with clean water for 2 to 5 minutes to clean the residual liquid in the pump and pipelines, preventing the internal residual liquid from corroding the body. Remove the water suction filter screen and the spray rubber hose, turn on the water outlet switch, press the pressure relief handle, loosen the pressure regulating handwheel to keep the pressure regulating spring in a relaxed state, rotate the engine or pump by hand to drain the water in the pump, and clean the dirt on the surface of the unit.

7. Replace the engine oil in the crankcase of the engine regularly as required by the user manual. If the crankcase is too dirty, you can clean the inner cavity with diesel and then add engine oil.

8. Before each startup or shutdown, the pressure relief handle should be lifted to the pressure relief position.

9. The operator's walking speed in the field should be maintained at 30 to 40 steps per minute, with each step being 0.5 to 0.6 meters. Approximately 0.25 mu can be sprayed per minute, and 14 to 18 liters of the liquid can be used to spray one mu (the liquid ratio can be adjusted according to this).

When using a fogging machine to spray pesticides, the operator should determine the walking direction based on the wind direction. It is important to ensure that the walking direction is as perpendicular as possible to the wind direction, and the spraying direction should be consistent with the wind direction. The spray pipe should be in a horizontal position for spraying. If there is no wind, the nozzle of the spray should be kept at a distance of 30 to 40 centimeters from the crops. The nozzle should be slightly tilted downward and swung left and right. The number of swings should be such that the nozzle swings once for each step taken to ensure even spraying of the liquid medicine.

11. Spray the pesticide evenly and avoid missing or over-spraying. No one is allowed to stand in front of the nozzle. It is strictly forbidden to direct the nozzle towards people or livestock.

When changing plots for work, first turn off the liquid medicine switch, then reduce the throttle. Before starting the work on the next plot, first increase the throttle and then turn on the liquid medicine switch to begin the work. When all the work is completed, the throttle should first be placed at a low speed and run for 3 to 5 minutes to allow the gasoline engine to cool down gradually. Then, the throttle should be turned off and the engine stopped.

Note: For the first 24 hours of the new machine, keep the throttle half open and operate under light load.

13. Operators must wear masks and wash and change them frequently. Be sure not to overwork. Do not smoke or eat while working. Wash your hands and face with soap after work.


14. When the sprayer malfunctions, first follow the troubleshooting methods in the manual to eliminate the problem. If it cannot be eliminated, please contact the manufacturer or the farm technicians.


15. When the prevention season ends and the machinery is to be stored for a long time, the accumulated water in the pump should be drained to prevent rusting of the parts and damage from freezing in cold weather. Remove the spray gun, rubber hose, mixer, filter, etc., clean them thoroughly and dry them. Drain the fuel from the gasoline engine, remove the spark plugs, inject about 10 grams of engine oil, rotate the crankshaft 3 to 4 revolutions, place the piston at the top dead center, and then tighten the spark plugs. Then store the entire machine in a cool and dry place. The machine parts must not come into contact with corrosive pesticides or fertilizers to avoid corrosion and damage. Rubber and plastic parts should be hung on the wall to avoid being damaged by pressure or folding.
