Safety Operation Guidelines for Jimu Plant Protection Drones
As an emerging aerial application platform, plant protection drones have complex systems, high correlation, and variable application environments. These features require our operators to practice their professional technical skills thoroughly. During the operation, they should always keep in mind the principle of "safety first, prevention foremost" to ensure that plant protection work is carried out in an "orderly, reliable, and efficient" manner.
There are countless flight routes, but safety comes first. Drone operators should conduct flight operations when they are mentally alert. Do not operate drones when drinking alcohol, feeling fatigued, taking medication, or feeling unwell. In addition, the following regulations must be followed:
Before homework:
1. Conduct a thorough inspection around the machine body to ensure that all parts of the equipment, especially the key operation parts, are in good technical condition. The hardware installation is correct, safe and firm. There is no damage to the machine body, propeller and battery, and no flammable or explosive items are attached. If any abnormality is found, stop using it immediately for self-inspection and maintenance. If it cannot be solved by yourself, contact the customer service of Jimu and the dealer in time.
2. Before starting the operation, please check whether the camera, radar and other sensor devices are clean and tidy. Keep the perception system of the drone in the best condition. The drone will report. If there is any abnormality, contact the JIMu customer service or the dealer in time.
3. Pay attention to medication safety and personal protection. Please wear protective gloves when preparing medicine. If medicine accidentally splashes into your eyes during preparation, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If you experience any physical discomfort or other conditions, stop working immediately and seek medical attention promptly.
When doing homework:
During the operation, closely monitor the operation data and the flight status of the unmanned aerial vehicle to facilitate timely emergency control and handling in case of unexpected situations. Please keep the following safety rules in mind:
(1) Ensure that personnel stay away from the operation machine: The take-off and landing sites for operations should be selected in areas with wide visibility and flat terrain, with no obstructions in the surrounding environment. The ground should be free of obvious protruding rocks, soil embankments, tree stumps, etc. Ensure that there are no people or animals within a 10-meter radius of takeoff and landing, and it is necessary to set up safety operation reminder signs. Personnel are requested to stay away from the operating machine. Do not touch the rotating propeller with your body or other parts. Do not wear loose clothing during flight to avoid getting entangled with the propeller and causing injury.
(2) Ensure no one is in the operation route area: Before takeoff, ensure that no one enters the operation route range to prevent accidents that may cause casualties.
(3) Ensure that the binocular obstacle avoidance is turned on: Safety comes first, efficiency second. Please be sure to turn on the obstacle avoidance during operation to add an extra layer of safety for your work.
(4) Do not operate in strong winds: When operating, pay attention to the ambient wind speed. If the ambient wind speed is above level 4, it is strictly prohibited to continue flying operations. When the ambient wind speed is between level 3 and 4, it is recommended to reduce the load for flight and choose crosswind flight. The flight speed should be controlled within 4 meters per second.
(4) Overloading operation is strictly prohibited: Overloading flight is strictly prohibited. If a drone flies beyond its rated load, it may lead to insufficient flight power along the route and cause unexpected situations such as forced landing.
After the assignment:
1. Collect and dispose of waste pesticide packaging and clean wastewater centrally to prevent poisoning caused by inhaling pesticides.
2. After the operation, the drone should be cleaned and maintained. Clean the important environmental perception components such as the camera and radar. Use soapy water or soapy powder water to clean the interior of the medicine box and the nozzle management system to prevent pesticide residues from causing damage to the equipment.
In addition to the above precautions, drone operators should also follow the following eight no-fly principles:
Do not fly over areas where there are people.
No flights are allowed within 20 kilometers of the airport center.
3. Passenger aircraft are not allowed to fly within the take-off and landing routes.
4. Do not fly to sensitive areas such as military and border regions.
5. Do not fly in places where flying is explicitly prohibited.
6. Do not fly aircraft that pose safety hazards or have not been fully prepared.
7. Do not fly if you are in a poor mental state or the weather is bad.
8. Do not fly until your basic skills have been practiced proficiently, especially avoid getting close to people.
