There are tricks to saving fuel for excavators on a daily basis
1. Avoid idling the engine
At idle speed, the engine and the hydraulic pump are still working and consuming fuel. For a 20-ton excavator, if it idles for one hour out of 10 hours a day, then avoiding idling can save about 15 liters of fuel per day and approximately 450 liters per month. During the daily loading or excavation process, when the excavator is on standby for a long time, try not to keep it idling and "wait". Balancing work and rest and stopping the machine appropriately can save more fuel. This is one of the fuel-saving tips for excavators.
2. Avoid heavy load voltage drop
When the bucket is overloaded, even if the handle is pulled to the limit, it cannot be changed. The pressure drop pattern will still occur. Assuming that there are 6 minutes of pressure drop during a 10-hour workday, if pressure drop can be avoided, 70 liters of diesel can be saved each month and approximately 840 liters annually. Everyone knows the truth that "you can't eat a big fat person in one bite". If a problem can't be solved with one shovel, it can be dealt with in two parts. Otherwise, it will not only waste the machine but also consume a lot of fuel.
3. Reduce the engine speed
When dealing with light tasks, appropriately reducing the engine speed, although lowering the engine speed will affect the workload, can significantly reduce fuel consumption and improve fuel-saving efficiency. Of course, it should be operated under the premise of not affecting work efficiency.
4. Reduce the rotation Angle
When loading onto dump trucks, reducing the rotation Angle of the excavator can shorten the loading time, increase the workload, enhance work efficiency, and thereby reduce fuel consumption. Many operators often overlook this point when loading the vehicle and get too far away from the dump truck.
5. Reduce the engine speed when walking
The faster the engine rotates, the more fuel is consumed when moving. By adjusting the engine speed, fuel consumption during movement can be effectively reduced.
6. High-altitude excavation during construction
At the excavation site, occupying the higher-lying areas and then excavating the lower-lying ones can shorten the boom operation cycle time by approximately 12% and save 8% in fuel efficiency.
