Maintenance
What should be noted when operating excavators under special working conditions?
Work in muddy water and on soft ground
When working on soft ground, due to the heavy weight of the excavator equipment, the ground may gradually sink. During operation, always pay attention to the condition under the machine body.
When the equipment is operating in water, do not let the water level exceed the upper support wheel, and do not let the inclination Angle of the equipment exceed 15°. If water enters the interior of the slewing bearing of the equipment, it is necessary to drain it in time and add sufficient grease. Otherwise, this situation is likely to cause damage to the engine or other structural components.
Work on uphill and downhill slopes
When the equipment is traveling down a steep slope, it is necessary to use the travel control lever and the throttle control lever to maintain a low traveling speed. When driving up or down a slope exceeding 15°, an Angle of 90-110° should be maintained between the boom and the boom. The distance between the back of the bucket and the ground should be 20-30 cm, and the engine speed should be reduced.
If the equipment is on a slope and the engine stalls, the rotation operation should be prohibited at this time to prevent the upper structure from rotating under its own weight.
If the equipment stops running on a slope, do not open the cab door. This can easily cause sudden changes in operating force. The cab door should always be kept closed.
When the equipment is walking on a slope, do not change the direction of movement; otherwise, it may cause the equipment to slide or tip over. If it is necessary to change the direction of walking on a slope, the operation should be carried out on a relatively gentle and solid slope.
Work in coastal areas
For excavators operating in coastal areas, before operation, it is necessary to check whether the plugs, drain valves and all covers are loose. If any are loose, they should be tightened immediately.
When necessary, add an appropriate amount of grease to the electrical equipment to prevent it from rusting by seawater. After operation, the entire equipment should be thoroughly cleaned to remove the salt in seawater. If necessary, grease or lubricating oil should be added to the required areas to prevent rusting.
