How to adjust the Angle and side guide inclination of the motor grader blade?

The motor grader scraper can be adjusted in five forms according to different operation requirements.

(1) Adjustment of the soil shovel Angle

The shovel Angle refers to the Angle formed between the forward and backward tilting of the shovel blade and the ground. The adjustment steps are as follows:

① Stop the machine, lower the scraper to the ground and make it perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the machine body.

Loosen the lock nut of the tooth plate to separate the tooth plate from the tooth frame.

③ Move the left and right lifting control lever of the shovel force. When the shovel rises, the Angle of the soil being scooped increases; conversely, it decreases. The applicable working conditions for different soil angles are shown in the attached table.

After adjustment is completed, mesh the tooth plate with the tooth frame and tighten the fixing nut and lock the nut.

(2) Adjustment of plane angles

The plane Angle refers to the Angle formed by the left and right rotation of the scraper and the longitudinal line of the machine body. The adjustment of the plane Angle is achieved by turning the rotary control lever of the rotary circle. The applicable working conditions for different plane angles are shown in the attached table.

(3) Adjustment of the tilt Angle

The tilt Angle refers to the Angle formed between the uneven heights of the left and right ends of the scraper and the ground. The adjustment of the inclination Angle is achieved by pulling the two lifting control levers of the left and right scrapers to prevent the two lifting cylinders from stretching or contracting. The applicable working conditions for various inclination angles are shown in the attached table.

(4) Adjustment of the side extension of the scraper

The blade side Angle refers to the blade extending to the left or right side of the machine body. The adjustment method is:

For short-distance lateral extension, simply move the scraper to move the control lever.

For long-distance lateral extension, the fixed position of the piston rod of the scraper movement cylinder can be adjusted, and then the scraper movement control lever can be pulled.

③ For ultra-long lateral extension, the position of the traction frame movement cylinder can be changed to make the traction frame and the scraper move as a whole, and then the scraper movement control lever can be pulled.

(5) Adjustment of the inclination of the side guide of the scraper

The side guide inclination of the scraper refers to adjusting the scraper outside the machine body to perform slope scraping operations, as shown in Figure 1.

① Adjustment for tilting to the left

A. Lower the loose soil rake to a height of 10cm above the ground.

b. Push the rotary control lever forward to turn the rotary knob to the left (rotate it slightly against the reverse direction and move the scraper). If the spherical pivot of the piston rod of the moving cylinder of the scraper is not in the right hole of the scraper, it should be moved to the right hole before moving the scraper.

c. Remove the fixed shaft pin of the traction frame moving frame, pull the control lever, and fix the moving frame in the hole on the left side of the guide frame.

d. Remove the left and right shaft pins connecting the lifting support frame of the scraper to the guide frame.

e. Move the left and right lifting control levers of the scraper to extend the piston rod of the left hydraulic cylinder and shorten the piston rod of the right hydraulic cylinder, so that the right side of the support frame guide frame can move. When the second hole on the right side of the support frame aligns with the right hole of the guide frame, install the fixed pin.

f. Inspect the hydraulic pipelines and eliminate the twisting phenomenon of the soft parts.

g. By appropriately lifting and rotating the scraper, it can be adjusted to the left side of the machine body.

② Adjustment for tilting to the right

a. Rotate the rotary circle and move the scraper so that the center of the scraper is approximately 25cm to the left of the symmetrical axis of the motor grader, and then lower the scraper to the ground.

b. Move the spherical pivot of the piston rod of the moving cylinder of the scraper into the left hole of the scraper.

c. Remove the moving cylinder of the traction frame and its piston rod, and fix them respectively to the hole on the right side of the guide frame and the spherical pivot on the right side of the traction frame.

d. Remove the left and right shaft pins that fix the support frame and guide frame of the scraper lifting cylinder.

e. Retract the piston rod of the left lifting cylinder of the scraper and extend the piston rod of the right long lifting cylinder to move the guide frame to the left. When the second hole on the left side of the support frame aligns with the left hole of the guide frame, install the fixed pin.

f. Check the hydraulic hose to prevent it from twisting.

g. Operate the lifting and lowering of the scraper and the rotation of the circle, that is, adjust the scraper to the right side of the machine body.

How to dig a side trench with a motor grader?

When a motor grader is used to dig ditches along roads or drainage ditches on sites, the following steps are usually followed:

Adjust the shovel blade so that its plane Angle is 35 degrees, the soil shovel Angle is 40 degrees, and the inclination Angle is approximately 9 degrees. The adjustment method is as described before.

② Tilt the front wheels appropriately towards the inner side of the trench. The end of the scraper for soil removal should be about 15 to 30cm away from the outer edge of the trench. The motor grader should travel at a low speed and slowly lower the scraper to start soil removal. When shoveling soil, the depth to which the shovel descends should not exceed 10cm, with the aim of marking the operation line.
