What measures should excavator users take to deal with natural disasters such as river overflows, flash floods and landslides that may be caused by extreme weather?

Today, the editor has sorted out the precautions for excavator construction and maintenance during the rainy season for everyone. We hope it will be helpful to you.

Precautions for construction during the rainy season

Before construction, it is necessary to pay attention to observing the surrounding environment and check whether the construction site is soft and has any potential hazards of vehicle trapping. The general method is: use a bamboo pole by hand to poke down. If multiple bamboo poles can be easily and quickly poked down without much effort and there is no resistance within 1 meter, it indicates that the area is all silt. Ordinary excavators are very likely to get stuck and cannot carry out normal construction.

Before conducting construction in mountainous areas during the rainy season, it is necessary to first observe whether there is a possibility of landslides, collapses or mudslides on the mountain. First, observe whether there is any fragmentation on the mountain, whether there is any unreasonable excavation, unreasonable waste of soil, debris or quarrying, whether the vegetation is growing well, and whether the mountain water is turbid.

During the construction process, if it is felt that the excavator has begun to sink, construction should be stopped immediately. Find a support point and use the large arm to support the vehicle body to prevent further sinking. Quickly drive the excavator back along the original route and do not drive in any other direction.

4. When working in the rain, always remain vigilant. When working at night, ensure the normal operation of the front and rear headlights, work lights, top lights, instrument lights, wipers, etc. of the excavator to guarantee safety.

After the construction is completed, the excavator must be parked in a safe area on a higher ground close to the residence, away from dangerous areas such as possible landslides and rising river levels. It is also necessary to ensure that the excavator has sufficient fuel so that it can be evacuated at any time.

Storage precautions during the rainy season

If conditions permit, it is best to store the machine in a dry indoor location and thoroughly clean it to remove any dirt and debris from it.

When parked outdoors, it is necessary to check whether the fuel tank and hydraulic tank covers are tightly closed to prevent rainwater from seeping into the tanks and causing unnecessary trouble.

3. Inspect the machine, repair worn and damaged parts, and install new parts if necessary.

4. Clean the filter element of the main air filter and lubricate all lubrication points. If possible. Retract all the cylinders. If this is not possible, apply grease to the exposed hydraulic cylinder rods for enhanced protection. Place the tracks on long and stable pads.

5. After the battery is fully charged, remove it and store it in a dry and safe place. If it is not removed, turn off the main power switch or separate the connection of the negative cable of the battery from the terminal.

6. Pay attention to the wear of the sealing ring on the engine oil dipstick to prevent rainwater from seeping into the oil. Also, check the oil filling port. If necessary, cover it with a plastic bag when parking outdoors to ensure everything is in order.
