In 1990, Yamaha Corporation of Japan launched the world's first unmanned aerial vehicle, which was mainly used for spraying pesticides. Agricultural drones for plant protection are small remote-controlled agricultural spraying aircraft. They are compact but powerful, capable of carrying 8 to 10 kilograms of pesticides. They can spray pesticides at low altitudes and complete the operation of one mu of land per minute. Their spraying efficiency is 30 times that of traditional manual labor. In addition, it can also conduct real-time monitoring of agricultural pests and diseases by being equipped with video devices. Agricultural drones for plant protection have been vigorously promoted in developed countries such as Japan and the United States.

Traditional farmers in rural China are constantly flocking to cities, and the labor force for pesticide spraying on crops is decreasing. The trend of professional unified prevention and control of pests and diseases is emerging across the country. The mechanization and automation process of plant protection services is accelerating. All these have brought a spring of development to China's unmanned plant protection aircraft industry, and unmanned plant protection aircraft spraying services are on the verge of emerging. I. Seeking the Key to Unlocking China's Agricultural Modernization 1. In recent years, due to the intensification of rural land transfer and the relaxation of the household registration policy for farmers moving to cities, agricultural intensive operation has emerged. The phenomenon of "3860" people working in farmlands has been around for a long time and is becoming increasingly severe. Modern agriculture is highly socialized agricultural production.

Features of unmanned plant protection sprayers

1. The use of brushless motors as power sources results in minimal vibration of the machine body, allowing for the installation of precision instruments and more efficient pesticide spraying.

2. Low terrain requirements, and operations are not restricted by altitude.

3. Short takeoff calibration, high efficiency and high attendance rate;

4. Environmentally friendly, with no exhaust gas, it meets the national requirements for energy conservation, environmental protection and the development of green organic agriculture.

5. Easy to maintain, with low usage and maintenance costs;

6. Small in overall size, light in weight and easy to carry.

The principle of unmanned plant protection sprayers

The flight speed of agricultural unmanned helicopters for spraying is 2 mu per second, the width of the spraying device is 3 to 4 meters, and the working width is 4 to 8 meters. Moreover, the distance from crops can be maintained at a fixed height of 1 to 2 meters at the lowest. In large-scale operations, it can reach 80 to 100 mu per hour, and its efficiency is at least 100 times higher than that of conventional spraying.

The unmanned helicopter spraying technology, which adopts the spray spraying method, can save at least 50% of the pesticide usage and 90% of the water consumption

3. Application of Unmanned Helicopter Spraying Technology Unmanned helicopters are not restricted by terrain or altitude. As long as they are within the flight altitude of the unmanned helicopter, they can take off from the fields and carry out operations on crops. Unmanned helicopters adopt remote control operation from a distance and autonomous operation functions of flight control and navigation. Before the spraying operation, only the GPS information of the crops in the farmland needs to be collected and the flight route needs to be planned. The input is into the internal control system of the ground station. The ground station then issues instructions to the aircraft, which can carry the spraying device and independently complete the spraying operation. After completion, it will automatically fly back to the take-off point.
