Maintenance and adjustment of small rice mills
I. Adjustment of the rice knife
Adjusting the rice knife involves adjusting the gap between the rice knife and the drum. If the gap is large, the pressure in the whitening chamber will be small, and the frictional force that the rice experiences in the drum will be weak. Therefore, the rice cannot be finely milled, but the rice yield will be high.
Ii. Adjustment of the inlet and outlet knife switches
When the inlet knife is opened wider and the outlet knife is closed less, the number of grains in the whitening chamber increases, and the pressure rises, resulting in a white rice color but more broken grains. Conversely, if the inlet knife switch is closed and the outlet knife switch is opened, there will be less rice stored in the white milling chamber, the pressure will drop, and the rice milled will be coarser
Iii. Specific Operational Adjustment Measures
(1) The adjustment gap between the rice knife and the drum should be moderate. Generally, the gap should not be less than the lateral diameter of the rice grains; otherwise, the rice grains are prone to breakage. The gap should not be larger than the longitudinal diameter of the rice grain either; otherwise, the rice grain will be rough. Therefore, the gap between the rice knife and the longitudinal and transverse diameters of the rice grains should be selected. Generally, when actually adjusting the gap of the rice knife, there should be a slight bevel, that is, the end closer to the exit gate knife should be a little larger. In this way, the milled rice will be more complete.
(2) The inlet and outlet knife switches should be closely coordinated with each other. Generally, the opening degree of imported knife switches can be controlled at half of the entire opening degree, and at most should not exceed two-thirds. During the rice milling process, it is generally not advisable to remove the inlet gate knife and keep the inlet fully open. Once the inlet gate knife is fully open, too much grain will accumulate, the pressure in the whitening chamber will be too high, and the rotational resistance will be large. If the outlet gate knife is not properly matched for a while, the transmission belt may slip, and even the machine may get stuck or damaged. The outlet switch knife should be flexibly controlled. During operation, after the gap of the rice knife and the opening degree of the inlet switch knife are adjusted as per regulations, they can be fixed. Generally, the operator only needs to operate the outlet switch knife with the right hand and connect the rice grains at the lower end of the outlet with the palm of the left hand to observe whether the rice grains are intact and whether the rice color is white. If there is a lot of broken rice, you can open the exit knife wider. If the grains of rice are rough, you can turn down the exit knife switch. During the rice milling process. Both should be taken into account until the quality of the rice milling meets the requirements.
Iv. Maintenance Matters
The rice processed by the rice mill should maintain a certain degree of dryness, and generally the moisture content should not exceed 14% to 15%. When the moisture content of rice is too high, the grains break more easily, affecting the quality of the rice, and the power consumption also increases accordingly.
(2) It is necessary to check whether there are any nails, stones or other debris in the rice to prevent them from entering the whitening room and causing blockage or damage to the rice sieve.
(3) Before starting the machine, the rice sieve, rice knife, drum core and other components should be inspected to see if the bolts and nuts are tightened.
(4) Before starting the machine, rotate the drum to check if there is any jamming.
(5) When starting up, first run the machine without load to the normal speed, then pour the rice into the feeding hopper, and always pay attention to the operation of the rice mill.
(6) After work every day, conduct a thorough inspection of the rice mill and its supporting facilities. Address any issues promptly to ensure that the rice mill is always in good condition.
