Do not start without coolant or with boiling water added

If coolant is added after the engine starts, the hot cylinder liners, cylinder heads and other important components will crack or deform due to sudden cooling. Adding 100 ℃ of boiling water to a cold engine block suddenly will also cause the cylinder head and engine block to crack. The coolant should be added only when its temperature drops to 60 to 70℃.

Do not start by pulling the vehicle

When the engine is started by pulling the vehicle when the viscosity of the engine oil is low, it will accelerate the wear between the moving parts, thereby reducing the service life of the locomotive.

It is prohibited to fail to change the engine oil and fuel on schedule

In winter, if low-viscosity engine oil and fuel are not changed in time, the engine will be very difficult to start.

Do not start the oil pan or the intake pipe with fire

To prevent fires, use a gentle flame or coal fire to heat the engine oil pan from a certain distance. At the same time, slowly rotate the crankshaft to evenly heat the engine oil and lubricate all parts. If the engine is started by igniting at the intake pipe, the ash and hard debris produced by the combustion of substances will be sucked into the cylinder, causing the intake and exhaust valves to not close tightly and accelerating the wear of the cylinder.

Do not use the electric heating plug or flame preheater for a long time

The heating elements of electric heating plugs and flame preheaters are both electric heating wires, which consume a large amount of electricity and generate a lot of heat. Long-term use can damage the battery due to sudden discharge and also burn out the electric heating wires. Therefore, the continuous use time of the electric heating plug each time should not exceed 1 minute, and the continuous use time of the flame preheater each time should be controlled within 20 seconds.

Do not directly add engine oil to the cylinder

Adding engine oil to the cylinder can play a role in sealing, pressurizing and heating, facilitating the cold start of the diesel engine. However, the engine oil cannot be completely burned, which is prone to carbon deposits, weakening the elasticity of the piston rings and reducing the sealing performance of the cylinder. In addition, it will accelerate the wear of the cylinder liner, causing a decrease in engine power and making starting more difficult. Therefore, engine oil cannot be directly added to the cylinder.

Do not directly pour gasoline into the intake pipe

The flash point of gasoline is lower than that of diesel, and it burns before diesel. Therefore, directly injecting gasoline into the intake pipe will cause the engine to work roughly and produce a strong knocking phenomenon. In severe cases, the engine may even reverse.

Do not start continuously for a long time

The starter on the engine operates under low voltage and high current conditions. Prolonged use can damage the battery. Its continuous working time shall not exceed lOs. If the first start doesn't work, wait for 15 seconds before starting again.

Do not operate at high speed right after starting

When the engine is just started, the temperature of the engine oil is low and its fluidity is poor. If it starts running at high speed immediately, it is easy to cause the moving parts to wear out rapidly due to lack of lubrication. In severe cases, it may even lead to bearing seizure and shaft seizing.
