How to inspect and repair the auger in the header of a combine harvester
The rotating blades of the header auger (header pusher) are subject to intense wear during the process of pushing the moving material, and the blades may undergo local deformation, damage or de-welding. Deformed blades can be restored to their original shape by knocking, and locally damaged blades can be repaired by welding with panels. When the blade is de-welded from the cylinder, it should be re-welded properly.
The main contents of the maintenance of the header auger include:
There should be a gap of 15 to 20 millimeters between the auger blades and the bottom plate of the header. When harvesting low-growing crops, it can be adjusted to 10 to 15 millimeters, and when harvesting high-density crops, it can be adjusted to 20 to 30 millimeters to prevent the auger from getting clogged. This gap is achieved by adjusting the up and down positions of the adjustment plates on both sides of the header.
The gap between the derrick and the bottom plate of the header should be adjusted according to the crop, with a minimum of no less than 6 millimeters to prevent the bottom plate from being scratched and causing grain loss. If the bottom plate is scratched, it should be welded and repaired in time. The header auger must not have axial movement.
