The Hansi Power diesel generator set is composed of three parts: the engine, the AC synchronous generator and the control box panel. Among them, the engine is the part that generates power in the diesel generator set and is prone to faults. Through our practice of selling so many generator sets, it has been proved that the faults produced by the generator sets are actually diverse. But in the final analysis, it all boils down to two aspects: internal causes and external causes

The internal causes of internal faults

In the design and manufacturing process, the properties of materials and oils should be taken into account to correctly select materials based on the working nature and characteristics of the parts of the diesel generator set. Improper material selection, non-compliance with material regulations and the use of inappropriate substitutes have led to the wear and tear of parts. The main causes of phenomena such as underfoot, deformation, fatigue damage, cracking and aging, as well as the properties of various materials and oils used in internal combustion engines, can be summarized into three aspects: material properties, material properties and mechanical properties. Many faults of internal combustion engines are precisely the result of the influence of external factors, which act through these properties. If metal materials are subjected to excessive force, they will deform, crack or even break. Under the effect of high temperature, they will oxidize. Under various loads, they will suffer fatigue damage. Non-metallic materials will age. The acidic substances contained in oil have a corrosive effect on metals and will cause the oil to deteriorate.

2. The working characteristics of the unit parts: Each system of the internal combustion engine has its own structural features in terms of assembly. In the course of work, external factors often come into play through these characteristics, causing malfunctions in related unit components. For instance, due to the inherent structural features of the engine water jacket, under high-temperature conditions, cooling water is prone to form scale on the outer wall of the cylinder liner, thereby affecting the cooling effect of the cylinder liner.

3. Working Characteristics of machine parts: Machine parts that are in direct contact and have relative motion will wear out due to friction. For instance, in an internal combustion engine, the piston rings are in direct contact with the cylinder. During operation, the piston rings make rapid reciprocating linear motion in the cylinder, causing wear to the cylinder. Components of the unit that experience drastic temperature changes during operation will deform and crack due to thermal stress. For instance, during the operation of an engine, the paste and cylinder head, due to the effect of high temperatures, have their internal stresses redistributed, reaching a new equilibrium. As a result, the planes of the cylinder block and cylinder head warp and deform.

Therefore, Hansi Power reminds that when using diesel generator sets, you should check whether the units you are currently using are in good condition when they are idle. You should put more effort into the diesel engines to avoid unnecessary work.
