For a long time, the technical reserves of the domestic agricultural machinery industry in the field of sugarcane machinery were very weak. Compared with other types of harvesting machinery, especially those for the current three major staple crops, sugarcane harvesting machinery is a category that develops very slowly.

In 2016, the Liugong Agricultural Machinery Sugarcane Production Full Mechanization Research Institute was officially established. This is the first institution in Guangxi led by an enterprise dedicated to researching the full mechanization of sugarcane production. It has hired expert teams from South China Agricultural University, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, etc., and is committed to the research of technologies such as the integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy, agricultural mechanization, core product technologies, informatization, and intelligence. Starting from the breeding, cultivation, planting, management, harvesting and transportation of sugarcane, research on the full mechanization of sugarcane production is carried out.

After much effort, the 350-horsepower sugarcane harvester of Liugong Agricultural Machinery was launched, becoming the only large-scale domestic sugarcane harvester product that has been widely applied in the domestic market to date. It is mainly used in large farms and has the outstanding advantages of high operation efficiency and low comprehensive usage cost, and is deeply welcomed by users at home and abroad.

Large-scale and efficient conquest of overseas markets

The S935 sugarcane harvester, as one of the series of products that emerged in response to the opportunity of the autonomous region's accelerated agricultural mechanization and the transformation and upgrading of the agricultural machinery equipment industry, is the largest and most efficient product among its global peers. The S935 sugarcane harvester has a single-machine daily harvest capacity of nearly 500 tons, equivalent to the manual work of 500 people. It is widely used in regions such as China, Southeast Asia, West Asia, and Central America.

★ Crawler sugarcane harvester

In August 2016, the first batch of 8 Liugong sugarcane harvesters were successfully exported to Cuba, officially opening the door to the international market. In the Central American market, the Liugong S935 (wheeled) /S935T (tracked) sugarcane harvesters have won over overseas customers with their outstanding achievements of a maximum daily harvest of 1,200 tons per unit and 50,000 tons per unit in a single crushing season. Liugong has signed large orders with this customer for several consecutive years and has signed a framework agreement for the purchase of over 300 sugarcane harvesters at one time.

★ Wheeled sugarcane harvester

During the 2017-2019 sugarcane harvest season, 24 S935 sugarcane harvesters were in operation in Cambodia, with an average daily harvest capacity of approximately 500 tons per unit. Their operational efficiency was on par with that of foreign products.

The Liugong S935/S935T sugarcane harvester, with its advantages of high efficiency and high cost performance, has effectively replaced similar sugarcane harvesters from abroad. With the continuous signing of market orders, Liugong sugarcane harvesters have constantly demonstrated the strength of domestic brand sugarcane harvesters in participating in international competition, making due contributions to promoting the mechanization of sugarcane harvesting.
