Usage Specifications for Electric Forklift Chargers
Usage norms for chargers
The charger is a very important component of electric vehicles. Reasonable use can effectively extend the service life of the battery and bring economic benefits
Usage method of the charger
1. Safety Precautions for Charger Use:
Before using the charger for the first time, please read the manual that comes with the charger carefully. Before connecting the battery, please also carefully check the manual of the relevant battery. Due to the gas evolution phenomenon (flammable and explosive gas) during the charging process, the charger must be installed in a dedicated, well-ventilated, dry, dust-free, non-corrosive gas, non-strong electromagnetic field interference, and humid place, and the power cord must be reliably grounded.
2) The area of the input power wire for the charger should not be less than 4mm ². The capacity of the power switch should be a power switch (Type D) with a capacity of no less than 30A, and it should have a good grounding device.
2. Connection between the charger and the battery
1) Please compare the specifications and models of the battery and the charger. The charger should be matched with the battery to be charged. Incorrect matching may cause excessive gas evolution, boiling, damage or undercharging of the battery during charging. Do not charge different types of batteries in series or parallel to avoid damaging the batteries due to battery differences.
2) Check the liquid level height of the battery electrolyte according to the manufacturer's manual to see if it meets the requirements
3) please click charger output terminals "+" "-" with the battery "+" "-" connected correctly, charging machine output line for the "+", black is "-". Reliably connect the battery's cable plug to the corresponding charger output plug, then connect the battery, and finally turn on the AC power supply. The charger is charged normally by default. After entering the normal charging mode, hold down the balance switch for about 5 seconds to enter the balance charging state, and the balance light will light up. If the polarity of the charger and the battery is reversed, the internal fuse of the charger will be burned out, and the charger will be unable to charge. The charger is correctly connected to the battery. When the power switch is turned on, the connection light on the front panel of the charger will light up. After 5 seconds, the charging light will flash and the charger will start charging
3. Start charging
When the charger is connected to the AC power supply, the power indicator light lights up, and the charger enters the automatic detection state. After 5 seconds, the charger starts charging and enters the normal charging program. The display screen rolls out the current charging voltage (***). *U), charging current (***. *A) Charging capacity ampere-hours (***. *AH) and charging time (**. *H) etc.
This section may be displayed slightly differently depending on the model of the charger
2) When the full charge indicator light of the charger is on, it indicates that the battery is fully charged and the charger stops charging. The display screen shows "FULL"
4. Balanced charging
1) Precautions
Equalization charging must be carried out in the following situations during use:
Under normal charging conditions, perform equalization charging once a month
b. Failure to charge in time after discharge or excessive discharge current
c. Those with undercharged or outdated batteries
d. When the discharge termination voltage of a single battery cell is lower than 1.75V or lower than 1.8V for more than three times, and the charger is in a normal charging state: Press and hold the equalization switch for about 5 seconds to enter the equalization charging state. The equalization light will light up, and the charger is in a normal charging state in the early stage. When normal charging is completed, it automatically switches to balanced charging and displays -JH - (First connect the power supply, then select the charging method).
2) Charging process:
When choosing equalization charging, it automatically switches to equalization charging after normal charging is completed, with the current remaining constant at around 8A. During equalization charging, the electrolyte density of the battery should be tested every 1 to 2 hours until it reaches 1.280±0.005g/cm³(at 25℃). If the density is higher than the specified value, distilled water can be added. After adjusting the density, continue charging for 0.5 to 1 hour to ensure uniform electrolyte density. The density difference of the electrolyte in each cell should not exceed 0.01g /cm³ (it should be changed to 0.02g /cm³). After turning off the charging power switch, the equalization charging is completed.
- Warning!
Never perform equalization charging on solid batteries. Only liquid batteries require this treatment.
Balancing is an operation of overcharging a lead-acid battery after it has been fully charged. It can prevent battery delamination and sulfation, both of which can shorten the battery's lifespan.
