Transmission

The lubricating oil of a new car should be changed after 250 hours of operation, and then once a year thereafter. When changing the lubricating oil, first drain the original lubricating oil completely and clean it.

The oil level and leakage of the lubricating oil should be checked weekly and replenished at any time. If the lubricating oil deteriorates, it should be replaced promptly. When checking the oil level height, the truck crane should be stopped on a level road surface. Due to the volume expansion of hot oil, the vehicle cannot be inspected immediately after driving. It can only be done when it is slightly cooler and the oil level is stable. Excessive oiling will cause the transmission temperature to rise and oil leakage, while insufficient oiling will result in poor lubrication of parts. In severe cases, it may lead to a burning of the gearbox.

Axle

The lubricating oil change cycle: The first change of lubricating oil should be carried out after a new car has traveled 1,500 to 2,000 kilometers. It should be replaced once a year or after driving 10,000 kilometers.

Grease replenishment cycle: For areas with grease cups, add grease once every three months or after driving 5,000 kilometers.

The oil level in the main reducer and wheel rim: Check it every month or after driving 1,000 kilometers. If the oil level is too low, it should be replenished in time. When replenishing oil, the oil level should not exceed the oil level line.

Brake clearance maintenance: Check and adjust the brake clearance every 5,000 kilometers driven. When the braking effect is poor or there are abnormal phenomena during driving, the clearance between the brake shoes and the brake drum should be checked. Improper adjustment of the brake clearance adjustment arm can cause brake burnout and brake failure.

Steering system

New cars should be replaced after 1,500 to 2,000 kilometers of driving, and then every year or after 10,000 kilometers of driving.

Check the steering fluid level once a month or every 1,000 kilometers driven to see if it has decreased, and whether the fluid has deteriorated or contains too many impurities. If any adverse conditions are found, add or replace the fluid in time. The oil inlet and outlet ports of the steering gear must not be connected in reverse. The oil inlet and outlet pipes should be connected in the direction indicated by the arrow on the front cover of the steering gear. The oil inlet is connected to the high-pressure chamber of the oil pump, and the oil outlet is connected to the oil inlet port of the oil tank.

Clutch operating mechanism

After driving the new car for 500 kilometers, adjust the clutch pedal travel and free clearance. As the clutch wears out, the clearance of the clutch pedal will gradually increase. If it continues to be used, it will cause the clutch to slip and eventually make it impossible to drive. So the clearances of all parts should be checked every 4,000 kilometers driven.

If the control part meets the requirements but the clutch slips, it is necessary to check the wear condition of the clutch friction plates and whether the contact area is uniform, as well as whether the diaphragm spring has failed.

Maintenance of balanced suspension

When the new vehicle has been running-in for 500 kilometers, tighten the front and rear U-bolts and nuts according to the specified torque value.

After the new car has been run-in (driven for 1,500 to 2,000 kilometers), tighten the front and rear U-bolts and nuts according to the specified torque value. And it needs to be tightened three times again after every 200 to 300 kilometers of driving.

Wheel

Maintain the wheel hub bearings every 10,000 kilometers driven. Remove the wheels and brake drums, clean the hub bearings thoroughly, then wash away the dirty and deteriorated grease in the inner cavity of the hub. Fill the gap between the inner ring of the bearing and the cage rollers with new grease, and apply a thin layer of grease on the inner and outer surfaces of the bearing before reassembling.

After every 10,000 kilometers of driving, the vehicle's tires should undergo a cross-rotation.

When changing the wheels, be careful not to damage the threads on the tire bolts. The mating surface between the brake drum and the rim must not be covered with paint, grease or other dirt. The clamping surface of the tire nut should be kept clean. Apply a little grease, engine oil or other anti-seizing agent to the threaded parts of the tire bolts and tires, but do not apply grease between the nuts and the rim mating surface to prevent the rim nuts from loosening. All the tire nuts have right-handed threads. After installing the tires, under the condition that the wheels are suspended, tighten the nuts in the order of diagonal cross rotation. After lowering the wheels, the tightening torque of the tire nuts should be adjusted to 600 to 660N.m. After each tire reinstallation, the vehicle must have the tire nuts tightened once as per regulations after driving 50 kilometers.

Daily maintenance of the chassis

Check the levels of engine oil, fuel and coolant;

Drain water from the oil-water separator;

Check whether the fuel system and exhaust system are loose or damaged.

Check whether there is any wear, damage, loose clamps or cracks in the intake pipe.

Check the drive belt;

Check the working condition of the negative pressure indicator of the air filter;

Check the lubricating oil level of the transmission.

Check whether the bolts of the universal joint bearing cover and the U-bolts of the leaf spring are tightened and reliable.

Check the working conditions of the handbrake and foot brake;

Drain the water from the air storage tank;

Check the tire pressure and condition, as well as the tightness of the tire bolts.

Check the working conditions of the lighting, signal system and various indicator lights (such as oil pressure, air tank pressure, charging indicator light, etc.);

In winter, it is necessary to check the anti-freezing condition of the gas line system.

Check the working condition of the wiper.

During the use of various oils and fluids, their quality will gradually decline due to contamination, oxidation and other reasons, and there will also be some losses. Constantly adding new oil can only make up for the shortage in quantity, but cannot fully compensate for the loss in performance. To ensure the long-term normal operation of the equipment, it must be replaced in a timely manner as per regulations, and the system must be thoroughly cleaned during the replacement. The oil should be drained when the vehicle is warm. Not only does it drain quickly, but it also makes it easier to remove the condensate water and impurities mixed in the oil.

The cost of maintenance only accounts for a very small part of the equipment cost. If proper maintenance and care are not carried out, the damage to the equipment will be significant. The reduction in the equipment's lifespan will lower its retention value and affect the price of second-hand machines. The repair costs and downtime losses caused by malfunctions are far more than the expenses spent on maintenance and upkeep. Don't lose the big picture for small gains. Carry out equipment maintenance on time, incurring small costs and achieving great returns.
