Cleaning and maintenance of the hydraulic system of cranes

The hydraulic system provides power for the working devices of engineering crane

The hydraulic system provides power for the working devices of engineering cranes. Correct maintenance of the hydraulic system is of great significance for enhancing the operational reliability of cranes.

Generally speaking, before a hydraulic system is officially put into operation, it usually needs to be flushed. The purpose of flushing is to remove contaminants, metal shavings, fiber compounds, cores, etc. remaining in the system. During the first two hours of operation, even if the system is not completely damaged, it will still cause a series of faults. So the system oil circuit should be cleaned in accordance with the following steps:

1. Clean the fuel tank with a quick-drying cleaning solvent and then remove the solvent residue with filtered air.

2. Clean all the pipelines of the system. In some cases, the pipelines and joints need to be immersed.

3. Install an oil filter in the pipeline to protect the oil supply pipeline and pressure pipeline of the valve.

4. Install a flushing plate on the collector to replace precision valves, such as electro-hydraulic servo valves, etc.

5. Check whether all pipeline dimensions are appropriate and whether the connections are correct.

If electro-hydraulic servo valves are used in the system, the editor would like to add a few more words. The flushing plate of the servo valve should enable the oil to flow from the oil supply pipeline to the collector and directly back to the oil tank. This allows the oil to circulate repeatedly to flush the system and filter out solid particles from the oil filter. During the flushing process, the oil filter should be checked every 1 to 2 hours to prevent it from being clogged by contaminants. At this point, do not open the bypass. If you find that the oil filter is starting to get clogged, replace it immediately.

The flushing cycle is determined by the structure of the system and the degree of system contamination. If the sample of the filter medium has no or very little foreign contaminants, install a new oil filter, remove the flushing plate, and install the valve to work!

Planned maintenance: Establish a regular maintenance system for the system. The following are suggestions for a better maintenance system for the hydraulic system:

The oil filter should be inspected and replaced at most every 500 hours or every three months.

2. Regularly flush the inlet oil filter of the oil pump.

3. Check whether the hydraulic oil has been acidified or contaminated by other contaminants. The smell of the hydraulic oil can roughly identify whether it has deteriorated.

4. Repair any leaks in the system properly.

5. Ensure that no foreign particles enter the fuel tank through the vent cap of the fuel tank, the plug seat of the oil filter, the sealing gasket of the return oil line, and other openings of the fuel tank.
