What are the reasons that cause the screw pump to fail to start?

The screw pump is composed of an axle, spiral blades and a casing. When pumping water, the pump is placed at an angle in the water, so that the inclination angle of the main shaft of the pump is less than that of the spiral blades, and the lower end of the spiral blades comes into contact with the water. When the prime mover drives the screw pump shaft to rotate through a speed reduction device, water enters the blades, rises along the spiral flow channel, and flows out at the outlet. The structure is simple, the manufacturing is easy, the flow rate is large, the water head loss is small, the efficiency is high, and it is convenient for maintenance and repair.

Why does the screw pump have difficulty starting?

1. Before starting the screw pump, the pump was not filled with the medium or the pump was not started for a long time.

Solution: Fill the pump suction chamber with the medium and rotate the pump shaft several times.

2. The medium in the pump has solidified.

Solution: Heat the pump to reduce the viscosity of the medium.

3. The interference fit between the rubber stator and the rotor is too large.

Solution: Replace the parts with an appropriate interference fit.

4. The packing of the shaft seal is too tightly pressed.

Solution: Adjust the tightness of the packing cover.

5. The input voltage is too low.

Solution: Adjust the voltage to normal and then start.

6. The starting torque is too large.

Solution: Check and adjust the outlet valve or rotate the pump shaft by hand and tools or increase the power of the power source.
