Solution to the problem of spiral conveyor blockage

Due to its particularity, the spiral conveyor is prone to material entanglement when the spiral shaft rotates, and the intermediate suspended bearings are also likely to be clogged with materials. Therefore, clogging becomes the most common fault of the spiral conveyor. Once the conveyor experiences a clogging phenomenon, it will increase power consumption. In severe cases, it may even burn out the motor. How can we effectively reduce clogging?

1. Reasonably select the technical parameters of the spiral conveyor, such as the rotational speed of the slow-speed spiral conveyor should not be too high.

2. Strictly follow the operation procedures, perform no-load starting and no-load stopping; ensure continuous and uniform material feeding.

3. Increase the discharge port or extend the end of the material trough to solve the problem of poor discharge or inability to discharge in time. At the same time, a small section of counter-rotating blades can be installed at the end of the discharge port or material trough to prevent material blockage at the end.

4. Carry out necessary cleaning of the materials entering the conveyor to prevent large impurities or fibrous substances from entering the machine and causing clogging.

5. Minimize the lateral size of the intermediate suspended bearings as much as possible to reduce the possibility of material blockage when passing through the intermediate bearings.

6. Install a material level sensor and a clogging sensor to achieve automatic control and alarm.

7. Open a bypass valve on the discharge end cover plate. When clogging occurs, due to the accumulation of materials, the bypass valve is opened, and the power is cut off by the travel switch.
