A veteran driver with 10 years of experience shares 4 tips for operating an excavator well with you
1. How does a small excavator climb a flatbed truck (without a ladder)?
The flatbed truck without a ladder on the small excavator is very likely to tilt, causing it to tilt more and more when reversing from behind. In fact, this problem is quite easy to solve: When getting on the vehicle, adjust the Angle of the excavator properly to ensure that the chain plate and the flatbed truck are aligned. Then turn the excavator upright (with the chain plate of the excavator on one side of the cab vertical), support it with the excavator arm, and slowly climb up the excavator. This process must be slow. While reversing, observe and adjust. The faster the speed, the more likely it is to veer off course.
2. How to dig a T-trench
The so-called T-shaped trench is one where the focus is on digging the trench to the wall. Such trenches are relatively difficult to dig. It's best to start digging from the T-shaped end that touches the wall. Don't panic when encountering such a situation, because except for digging while riding on the ditch, everyone can dig wider.
If you come across sandy soil, I personally do not recommend digging on the ditch while riding, as it is very likely to cause danger. If the soil quality is good, you can dig while riding in the trench. It should be noted that when digging, do not forcefully collect the soil with your forearm, as this may cause the excavator to shift. Use a bucket to dig and try to dig out the shape of the trench in one go.
3. How to level the ground
Regarding leveling, this is the most fundamental operational skill for drivers. Leveling is not something you can master proficiently just by following a set of theories; it requires a lot of practice.
Here's a little tip: When leveling, move slowly. Dig as slowly as you can and as long as you can, and then use the tip of the shovel to slowly scrape over the soil.
So how can we tell if it's flat or not? If it feels too high, scrape a little bit slowly; if it feels too low, use the tip of the bucket to push a little soil. By doing this step by step, you will eventually master a reasonable and flat perspective.
It should be noted that the excavator must be parked flat. If it is working on a mound of soil, you just need to move the excavator left and right to keep the bucket parallel to the ground.
4. How to load the vehicle quickly
I'm too slow to load the car. How can I load it fast? Many friends have encountered this problem. Here are a few tips.
The first point is that the excavator should stop smoothly so that it can rotate quickly and smoothly.
The second is to minimize actions as much as possible, reducing one by one. When digging the soil, the bottom of the bucket should be as parallel to the soil layer as possible, and then the small arm should be retracted to dig the soil. This action should dig as full as possible. When throwing soil onto the vehicle, try to lift the upper arm and then flip the bucket to unload the soil. Do not push the lower arm, as this will cause the soil piled on the bucket to fall off prematurely.
