Methods to prevent slippage of belt conveyors
During the operation of belt conveyors, due to force and balance reasons, slippage is extremely likely to occur. However, after observing these phenomena, we find that the fundamental reason for the slippage of the conveyor belt of the belt conveyor is the insufficient friction between the conveyor belt and the rollers.
Then why does friction play such a significant role in the occurrence of slippage in belt conveyors?
The main reason is that during the process of transporting goods by the belt conveyor, once the running resistance increases, such as overloading the conveyor, the conveyor belt getting stuck on the frame, damage to the rollers, entanglement of debris, and coal slime being buried, the rollers will not rotate.
Second, the coefficient of friction decreases. For instance, water or coal slime gets into the contact surface between the drive roller and the conveyor belt, and the cast rubber on the surface of the drive roller is damaged.
Third, the tension of the conveyor belt decreases. For instance, if the conveyor belt elongates due to deformation, the tensioning device will pull. Insufficient tightness or damage.
So how can we prevent the conveyor belt from slipping?
Based on experience summary, we have come up with the following points to prevent the slippage of conveyor belts:
First, it is necessary to strengthen operation management and maintenance. If the conveyor belt slips, the machine should be stopped immediately and analyzed and handled according to the above causes.
Second, it is to use a slip protection device. If the conveyor belt is found to be loose, it should be tightened immediately. During the tensioning process, it is strictly forbidden to use hands or crowbars to stop the running tensioning vehicle and steel wire rope. During operation, it is strictly prohibited to clean the adhering substances on the idlers and rollers by hand or with any tools. The idlers that do not rotate flexibly should be replaced.
Iii. When replacing the conveyor belt or making conveyor belt joints, if it is necessary to start the machine briefly to pull the conveyor belt, it is strictly prohibited for the operator to stand above the rotating parts. When the conveyor belt deviates, it should be adjusted in time. When dealing with deviation, it is strictly forbidden to hold onto the running conveyor belt by hand or foot.
Fourth, when the machine is shut down, unless there are special circumstances, the coal on the conveyor belt should be emptied to avoid heavy-load starting. Frequent heavy-load starting is strictly prohibited. Electric locomotive transportation in coal mines is a major form of long-distance transportation in mine tunnels. It is a mechanical and equipment device that uses an electric locomotive to pull one mine car on the track for transportation, undertaking heavy transportation tasks such as coal, gangue, materials, equipment, and personnel.
